Re: The 2022 boot thread

I’ve bounced around between burton, deeluxe, and Ride for awhile now. Have definitely settled on Ride in the last few years. Burton no longer fits my foot. Had a set of Insanos that were just great, though the hard shell on the tongue cracked in the second season. I stitched it with wire and beat th...

Signal Snowboards

Are they garbage? I’ve never seen anybody out here riding one. I had a good tip day last spring and made exactly enough to buy a Tailgunner on clearance. It’s mounted up with Falcors right now. Took it to the resort for the inaugural shred the other day. I found it pretty underwhelming everywhere. I...

Re: Expensive Divorce - The Split Thread

Is it just me, or does anybody else find the asymmetrical ski tip of your split board in tour mode very aesthetically unpleasing? It started to really bug me about 5 years ago. I would just get annoyed at the pointy tip on the outside edge of each ski. In some trail breaking conditions the snow keep...

Re: Expensive Divorce - The Split Thread

Oh yeah! Karakoram Ultraclips. This is the first deck I’ve had them on. Totally dig the solid cammed connection. But am always wary of small moving parts in snow and ice. The board lived outside for 9 days straight. Major rime buildup over night a few times. Several times I had to pull out a flat he...

Re: Expensive Divorce - The Split Thread

Well, 7 days in on the new Japow split and I’m pretty impressed so far. First three days were stupid deep. Trenching deep. 70+cm of completely blower, choke on it kind of snow. Nothing much to be learned about a new deck in those conditions. Yup, it floats. Yup, it sends off stuff if ya straight lin...

Re: Salomon Snowboards

I spent a lot of days on a Dancehaul 157 last season. Super fun deck for sure. Great for bank slashing, side hits, and hit n’ run pow stashes. It’s holding up really well too.

The Wolle HPS things look so tempting. I keep going to the shop to caress them.

Re: BINDINGS

Day one on Now Select Pro today. Took them out to rip around on a Solly Dancehaul. I had some IPO years ago when Now first dropped. I was extremely underwhelmed and promptly gave them away to a friend. He’s still rocking them too, after a warranty or two of the kingpin. Anyway, a deal came up, I’m b...

Re: Expensive Divorce - The Split Thread

Yesterday was an exciting day for me. A new split arrived for the season. I’ve never ridden a Weston before, split nor solid. So this’ll be a fun way to get acquainted. Also haven’t spent time on Pomoca skins, which are the manufacturer of the Weston branded rugs. I’ve always been the guy who rips o...

Re: OUTERWEAR

A new pair of 686 bibs arrived at the house here for my 16 year old yesterday. They’re the Smarty, so infiDRY instead of Gore. This’ll be the first 686 product to roll through my family. I’ve gotta say, I’m very impressed with the overall build quality and feel of the bibs. Definitely makes me curio...

Re: OUTERWEAR

kimchi Navigating the world with violence is pretty good personal catch phrase. The two trew bibs are totally different material. The capow has a stretchiness and softness to them. The Trewth was a much more traditional static fabric. I think the Capow will hold up well as a dedicated backcountry p...
