Signal Snowboards

Post by Viceroy »

Are they garbage?

I’ve never seen anybody out here riding one. I had a good tip day last spring and made exactly enough to buy a Tailgunner on clearance.

It’s mounted up with Falcors right now. Took it to the resort for the inaugural shred the other day. I found it pretty underwhelming everywhere. I feel like some brands build tools for destroying mountains of snow and others build cheap toys.

I guess I’m gonna figure out where Signal falls on that spectrum.

I've known a grip of people who have really liked them over the years. However, there are boards many people love that I don't, and there are boards I love that many people wouldn't. Why did it feel underwhelming?

I liked my yup as a reliable all mtn/daily driver, a lil chattery on the whitecaps, but not bad by any stretch.

Their park series boards had a bit of representation here about 10 years ago in the early rocker days and they had a super rocker butter stick (I think just called Park Rocker) and they seemed to be everywhere for a hot minute like the stepchild jibstick. My buddy had an Omni as his do-it-all for a while. I don't see too many of them on the hills these days.

Dufficy/Hammer/Jake OE/And J.Jackson all have ridden for Signal. That's a pretty rad list of riders.

Danimals had a sick pro model.

I had the first year Wampeater 151 and 156, really only got them because Keegan did the art for them. The 151 was fun as a Midwest deck, bit too soft. Rode the 156 at keystone on a deep day and it ripped, but I can’t really do 270mm waist widths. Quality seemed fine, shape was funky and fun, but I probably wouldn’t ever buy another Signal.
