I tried to get a "performance" fit for the first time this season, picking up a pair of TM-2s half a size down from my mondo point size. They were tight of course before and after heat molding but seemed like they might work after a break-in. After 2 runs in them, I thought the nails on my big toes were going to fall off. It sucks because I did legitimately have a level of precision and response I've never had otherwise.

32's liners are so ungodly stiff these days. I don't see how they could ever be comfortable. Earlier in this thread I had tried some of this season's TM2 wide BOAs and they were like putting my feet in cinder blocks.

I have always thought, for me personally, that 32s were the most uncomfortable boots on the market. I've never understood how people can love them.

The issue for me was the toe box height of all things. Maybe other issues would have revealed themselves given more time but if the last came to even half a cm higher at the end I think they might have worked.

During heat molding? I stupidly didn't because I wanted as aggressive a fit as possible and hoped a natural break-in would do the rest. I should probably try again before getting rid of them, but the experience was bad enough to put me off of them for a while

I’m the outlier! 90 days or so on these including touring and they are so damn comfy. I did have them molded before I left the store (using double toe caps if I remember correctly.

Yesterday I finally had the time to try out the decathlon plastic inserts for the boots, an old ( 5 years maybe) pair of burton ion.....well, what a difference, the boots had lost almost all the original flex, they where really floppy, but now seems almost like brand new, what a difference, they will save me lot of money

Anyways, I don't know if it really makes a big difference, but do you guys would prefer if made in carbon?

I have a pair of the Iguchi Vans Verse incoming.
I just hope the 10.5 fit (I ride Burton 10, everyday shoes, including various Vans, are 10.5).

Picked em yesterday. Vans definitely changed the lasting or whatever cause these fit like a glove. Have only worn them at home so far, but yeah. No pressure on sides, wiggle room for toes. The Verse I had a few years back were waaay tighter.

They are however also 300g (10 oz) / boot heavier than the Burton Tourists, and don't have a heel welt for semi-automatic crampons, nor heel brake. Not everyone needs those, but I do like at least a bit of heel brake sometimes.

Looking forward to getting back up there to try them out. Heatwave just kicked in, so it may be a few days yet.

Turns out Vans' lasting for these really did get drastically changed.
As I've mentioned numerous times here, the size 10.5 US 2018-19 Vans Verse were really tight. I finally broke them in somewhat but when tailor bunions appeared during a tour, I sold em.
I've been on Burton (Tourist) US size 10 since, and they fit great.
My normal shoe size is 10.5. Vans, Nike, Adidas, etc… always 10.5. So going to 10 in Burton was a surprise.

Anyways, so I hear Vans changed their lasting and had been eyeing the Verse Range edition for like 2 seasons. Finally got 'em.
US size 10.5. Old 10.5's were tight, all my Vans street shoes/boots are 10.5… they fixed their lasting… this should be good.
Tried em on twice before heading out and was really pleased at how comfy they felt.

And then I took em out.

After about 10 steps, I realize: these boots are too big! Like, way too big. Toes are floating around. Heel is lifting. Cranking down the BOAs until the cuff is tight does nothing for the toes and heels, deforms the boot, and jams the tongue stiffeners into my forefoot.

@pow_hnd I know you just sold yours citing sizing issues. Obvs we all have different feet, but we may also have been duped by weird sizing.
Unfortunately, I'm not gonna risk ordering size 10s to find out (at least not while I'm in Japan).

I soooo wanted to love these boots.

for vans, i recommend sizing a whole size down from your shoe size. i had the 9.5 infuse and wear 10.5 in vans shoes. fit was perfect so i can imagine you must have been swimming in those verses.

i switched from the fuse to the infuse but went back to fuse this year. vans boots are way too bulky, heavy and the infuse has so many lacing systems (ankle lace, traditional lace with lower zipper, boa, power strap) that it takes awhile to get on. i wanted to like the boot but compared to other boots on the market, its not a good match for what i prioritize in a boot.

What's the opinion on Deeluxe boots? Trying to replace my Vans Hi standard boots, they are so narrow around the ankle area it's damn hurtfull!
Shoesize is 9US(only wear Vans shoes) and had to go up 1 size in Vans snowboard boots(10US) but still way to narrow on the ankle area!
