This what snowmobiling does to outerwear

Originally DWR finish was water and dirt repellent, but not on high end GoreTex anymore. It may be water repellent (arguably) but it is dirt magnet. :) And it will not get clean in normal wash. No specially dirty activity needed to get GoreTex PRO dirty "as advertised", normal use is enough.

yes, as an outdoor sports enthusiast i do indeed understand how items will get dirty with use, sir.

i do, however, find it odd for a large brand to use those photos as the main images for a high end jacket they are trying to sell.
midwest is best

My guess is the thought process was either...

Lets show people that this is actually the gear these guys wear

or

We sent a photographer out and didn't think that the gear would look like shit but that's the only jacket we have to shoot so... fuck it

For me, a brilliant ad that masterfully sold “durability” was the one for Eastpack backpacks where you could see a skeleton in the desert with a backpack that looked brand new…

I don't know if "durability" is what B wants to teach us here... but it seems that way to me

My AKs last and last and last…

Maybe it’s there way of saying hey we only use one piece of outerwear. We are sustainable/environmental friendly ?

I think they are showing it as ‘workwear’ like a Carhartt ad with some beat up pants that are still going strong. AK line as serious mountain equipment for guides, sledders, pro snowboarders and regular folks who ride lots of days and want their gear to last. In my experience it really does.

Eastpak really was thinking ahead when they killed that hiker. I applaud them actually listening to their creative team on that one.
