Yeah, it is a stark difference how much more snow WhiteWater gets than RED given their proximity. That's why I think it's a great to combine both spots in one trip. Hit WhiteWater for the deep totals, and then hit RED for the followup days since there's so many stashes left over after a series of storms.

WhiteWater does get more snow for sure, but RED is easily my pick if the storms have been delivering to both resorts. But maybe I'm saying that as someone who knows RED terrain a lot better, and I love the slopeside experience. Nelson is the better town with more good eats no doubt, but staying on the hill at RED is such great value!

We usually stay at the Josie hotel at RED @Oldhead. It's super convenient with its ski valet, and a short drive into town whenever you need supplies. I'd avoid the new Crescent condos, since they're still dialing in stuff and feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel.

Lastly, you could do time at both since they're so close. We normally do a few nights at RED, and a few nights in Nelson for WhiteWater / Baldface Lodge.
Great info! I prefer varied terrain over open bowls all day. I will probably end up hitting Red and Whitewater. Our first Jack Russell terrier was named Josie. That sealed the deal. Looking at prices now.

@Oldhead if you have an amex platinum there's a deal when you book the josie: free daily breakfast, upgrade room, and $100 hotel credit for food or other expenses.
