I have a couple of Camber dominant Kazu 151, and a new one I just picked up (154), but I didn't ride it, so far.
The reverse camber in the tail is not very pronunced, tho.

Yesterday I had a blast with my 2019 Kazu 151, the base grind fixed the base performances (they were not on par with the other Capita I had). Great great great board, I love it too. I had to keep up with 3 skiers, so it was a very fast paced day

I demoed the Kazu in 2020, and also own the 2024 version. IMO, the redesign makes it a better daily driver, whereas before it was more of a quiver board.The full camber was a backcountry freestyle board for Kazu: steep lines and high speeds. The hybrid profile makes it more approachable for all-mountain riding. It's still a pro model, though: stiff deck that wants to go fast, and ride hard; but you can take a few cruising and slushy laps in the afternoon, and not worry about being too on top of it all the time.Alkasquawlik wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 4:20 pm Anyone have experience on the old camber dominant Kazus and the ones with the new camber profile? I think that having one or the other depends on whether you lean more freestyle or more freeride. I don't know if I'd have both in my quiver, tbh.

That tracks, at least from a design theory. I know Capita changed the camber profile to make it more appealing to the masses. I will say that the way I ride my current Kazus is similar to what you described, it's a groomer killer and I feel it's like a high-end, souped up Slush Slasher. I agree that the Aeronaut and Kazu are very similar and that it's effectively a freeride v freestyle designation, but I literally just take out whichever one has a pair of bindings mounted on them, which lately has been the Aeronaut. I'll probably pick up the new model next year regardless and be back in the situation of debating which board to take out.

They are awesome boards, one of my favorites in a long list of boards I've ridden/owned. Fast, precise, and lively. The Indoor is a blast if you're a fan of full camber Capita decks. Gonna buy next year's.

are the kazu and the aeronaut so different?
What stopped me from considering the aeronaut is that it is so narrow...

They're pretty similar, as @jclinares said above and corroborated by the rep I work with, it's really a freestyle v freeride mindset that'll tip the scales one way or another. are the kazu and the aeronaut so different?
What stopped me from considering the aeronaut is that it is so narrow...
The one thing that does immediately come to mind is that I do prefer how the Kazu holds a line and turns over the Aeronaut. Probably something to do with the differences in sidecut on the Kazu, but one of the more engineering minds can confirm.
