The Official CAPiTA Thread

Post by PacEnDubya »

CAPiTA Outsiders effective edge:

150 = 1162; 152 = 1185; 154 = 1187; 156 = 1223

Question: In looking at the 152 and 154- how is it possible to gain two cm in length but only two mm in EE?

In my mind to me it might indicate they're maybe using different core templates to profile but the same mold to press both the 152 and 154. In a sense, the 2 additional cm might be just one each on the nose and tail. I'm speculating here that the only actual difference in the EE is from the change in WW on the core template.

Now if we compare that to the step up to 156, which again is only 2 cm increase in length difference, but the EE completely changes from 1887 to 1223. In my mind that's a longer mid section bc the different press mold moves the nose and tail bend and contact points father out.

At least that's how it might make sense to me

Thx. Assuming you're correct, I wonder why they would do that? All sizes (other than the 52 to 54) seem to have a substantial difference in specs...but the 52 and 54 effectively seem to be the same-ish board...

If that's actually what they're doing I'd assume that it's basically because the number of people that are going to even look at, let alone understand and/or care about such things number in the 10s, while those that still measure a board up to their nose.... or pick one size over another due to their preference in graphics is everyone else.

We're those 10s of dorks, man. And even I (though I'll never admit it) am sometimes swayed by graphics.

She's a beaut. I'd hate to mess up a board like that.

some of you are closer to/in the industry. we've had a proliferation of cool but niche stuff like this over the last few years. will that continue into the future? maybe some things shut down but new ones pop up, or has it been unprofitable to the point that it was an experiment that didnt work out?

i'm definitely holding a couple decks that i dont ride a ton but doubt i'll be able to get again in the future

It's a Mini Tree Hunter.
I love his nose shape
(I think the nose shape inspired some other shapes, like the Squash)
