I'd buy those Burton x South Park decks if they ever did them again. Or a board with an FJ40 front end on it. Or a Capita x bewbz collab like the old days.

Following the nitro alternator theme, maybe a future graphic will hit the 40 series mark

That Birds of a Feather has to be one of the coolest graphics I've ever seen on a board.

First weekend lift assisted and first time with Kazu 161W, Saturday we had some fresh snow on top of icy man-made groomers, good at morning, bumpy with ice patches in afternoon. Sunday - good groomers, cold, even more "Finnish pow" (=not deep) outside groomers, so quite variable conditions for one weekend.

Was able to compare Kazu directly to Flight Attendand 168 and to US Transmission 159. Kazu feels stiff, definitely not medium-stiff and not 6, as Capita says, at least 161W for ~180 lbs guy feels stiff.

It feels extremely good on edge, fortunately early rises in nose and tale and detuned contact points cannot be felt at all, as soon as board is even slightly tilted. So they only managed to make it easier to flatline with those changes. Tale also feels "slippery" while bunny hopping whit this early rise, but I am not bunnyhopping nor flatlining, I am freecarving, so it does not bother me.

I can't wrap my head around, why board like Kazu needs to be easy for flatlining and have contact points detuned? I guess average guys like to buy pro-model boards and complain / post reviews all over the internet, how those are unrideable.

It has very minimal dampening, not even close to FA or Transmission. I guess even Tributeshop does sometimes "angrys", means to translate manufacturer specs into review, instead of concentrating on how board actually feels, while ridden. Yes, wooden topsheet adds dampening, but it does not necessarily make board damp, it just add dampening from none to minimal.

Grip on ice seems to be very good, I barely noticed icy patches, much less than on FA, which I know being good even on icy days.

Sidecut feels very short, much shorter than FA 168 or Transmission, too short for my liking, so I was shocked when came home and checked specs sheet that it is 8.7m. I measured it and it is exactly 8.7m! So wide Kazu not only looks like proper carving board, it actually turns like proper carving board and could have much longer sidecut, as proper carving boards does.

Turning is very balanced and intuitive to control, perfect, when I am concentrating, but unforgiving, means if I am not concentrating, Kazu let me know that. It is more unforgiving than FA and similar or even more unforgiving, than Transmission.

Because it turns so tide when even slightly tilted, I end up to microsteer with ankles, instead of tilting whole board aggressively, and combining with minimal dampening and rough terrain - this brakes my rear ankle. Need to switch to FA or Transmission, until rear ankle is again bearable. May need to turn rear binding from +12 to +15 or more, to prevent myself from ankle steering too much (I had +33 +12 binding angles), but it feels wrong on directional twin, as Kazu.

Btw, cannot see, how Kazu can be good powder board with minimal nose (I never move bindings back, do not want to compromise turning), FA feels much better for me, even Transmission feels better in powder. But I am not good powder rider, last season we had less powder (1 day), than this season already (today 3rd day).

Base feels very good directly from wrapping, as on every quality board, I had, glide is very good even in demanding conditions, as fresh warm snow. For some reason wiping the base generates huge amount of static electricity, I had never experienced this before. Even graphite wax did not remove this behavior.

I know it's a bit different than this Kazu, but with my previous camber-to-tail, the general consensus here was to set it a little bit back from the suggested inserts. I did it, and it rides beautifully.
Also my understainding is that Fawcett mount the bindings set back, from the standard suggested stance, even in this Kazu version.
Maybe is worth giving a try.

I'm bad at maths so forgive me if this is a stupid question but how on earth are you measuring the sidecut radius?

The math is quite simple really and you always have calculators for everything available, to skip the math, for example:

When measuring, just skip section of sidecut where radius is not consistent, in this case I took ~10 cm off from contact points.
