I think when you look at the specs as a whole, it makes more sense. Yeah, it has a long EE, but it also has those huge flat to rocker sections, mellow flex tip to tail, super lightweight construction, etc that all make it feel playful. The EE is a bonus, IMO, because it does all the AM freestyle things but can still hold a relatively decent edge.nitro909 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 11:59 amYa thats exactly what my concern iseleveneightnate wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 10:40 amI have the 157w with 1239mm effective edge, which is pretty long, but it's not something that jumps out to me when I'm riding. It's decently nimble and definitely not overly locked in feeling if that's what you're worried about.nitro909 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 10:14 am For those riding the DOA, how does the longer effective edge feel for you. I had a 56 DOA (prob 18-19ish) and it was fun. I always wondered if I should downsize due to the longer ee, the 58 just seemed like way too much. Im sure the boards have changed some since then, but wanted to see what you guys think of it as Ive been eyeing them again.

Thats a good way of thinking about it. Ive been riding the process and name dropper for the past few years and the DOA in the same size has a much longer ee and just seems like its gonna ride a lot "bigger". The 56 I had felt good, but that was a while ago.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 12:38 pmI think when you look at the specs as a whole, it makes more sense. I wouldn't be scared to downsize it if the EE is worrying you, especially since you can get it in a "wide" that's really more like a mid-wide (if WW comes into play). I'm 175 with size 11s and normally ride boards in the 158-160 range, but the 157w feels great. Equal parts stable and playful, like a board I've been on forever.

In my personal preference I go to smaller boards and now that I am deciding between the 51w and 53w I think about several elements that determine my decision
51w more maneuverable and lighter than 53w
I spent the last few years with small boards of 151 except for the sherlock54 (but it has a running length of 960 and ee 1102 so its riding is small) but they were boards with a delayed stance but on the other hand DOA is 0 setback and that leaves a minimal nose that I don't like. It is also true that I could not try it in 51w size.
Since DOA are boards with stance 0, you have to go to a larger size to maintain the same nose and on the other hand, the same board in a larger size is softer...
I also think that if his long ee made the board difficult, it wouldn't be good for so many riders. and also the there are big difference with old pure cambers with which you felt the 4 extremes that while you were sliding, they negotiated with the snow the opportune moment to send you to the ground...
My reality is that the hardness of the board (were and how) influences me more than the numbers and measurements. My FA52 244ww makes me uncomfortable today when I now slide with 26.5ww and I'm happy with on fire turns and I only notice the width in the most stable receptions…. (I wear 8us)
Maybe I fled to the smaller boards because I was always on hard boards.
Hmmmm this is taking me to l 53w

Never owned a Capita board before, but here's what I'm hoping will be my new daily driver
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
I am 74 kilos bare weight. Last season I was doing research about DOA sizes and decided to pick up 154 since it is a small waist width for my 7.5 boots and for jib-smalljump-do-it-all deck. It is very light and feels very small like my 152 Stepchild Sucks. Tried DOA in 156 and it fellt again very light but more stable. If I am going to buy another DOA for All-mounting it will be deffinetly 156.nitro909 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 10:14 am For those riding the DOA, how does the longer effective edge feel for you.
