I don"t think they are crazy heavy. Their weight hasn't been noticeable to me, so I don't pay attention.
I've got narrow feet, after I rode them a few times I did go to my local boot fitter to get them dialed in, but honestly I have to do that with every boot I own, no matter who makes it.
No more power strap. These are double BOA.
They have always been double BOA. But at least the first couple of generations also had a velco-strap at the top of the liner. Is that gone?
I quite liked it (helps with my skinny calves) even though it added to the small ordeal of getting these boots on and off: wiggle foot into the boot (harder than other boots because the tongue does not open up as much), tighten liner, thread liner power strap and tighten, BOA 1, BOA 2, zip the gaiter, adjust BOA (after the tension has evenly distributed through the cables)...
Not a big deal at all but takes way longer than with any other boot I have ever had.
No velcro strap across the front of the boot.
the Range Edition might not have the Power Strap on the front because of the strap around the back for hike mode (although the Vans description still lists it), I can see how the two wouldn’t work well together. the standard Verse should still have it, though.

I’m glad to hear you’re stoked on the Ranges, Tyler. These have been the boot I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to use mine for something other than walking around my basement.

Yesterday was an exciting day for me. A new split arrived for the season. I’ve never ridden a Weston before, split nor solid. So this’ll be a fun way to get acquainted. Also haven’t spent time on Pomoca skins, which are the manufacturer of the Weston branded rugs. I’ve always been the guy who rips one freeride split for all situations. Having something as specialized as this is gonna be a trip. I’m gonna commit to riding only this deck for the next 15 days of split missions, no matter the conditions, just to see how niche this shape really is.

Anyone got experience with Burton splits? I keep looking at the Hometown Hero, can snag a good price locally. They only make the 162 in split variant (and only the 160 in solid) which is a little annoying. If they made a 162 solid I might own my first Burton board in 15 years (last one was the 07 Cat Uninc).
I like the shape and profile better than my Backwoods. My primary concerns are:
- Seems heavy? I haven't put it to a scale, but just lifting it feels notably heavier than my Backwoods.
- I have to use the Burton slider pucks, which are plastic. Can't use my Spark pucks any more.
- Slider system means no Karakorams, although I don't like my Karakorams for anything other than use on my Drifts so don't know that this is a big loss anyway. I guess I'd still like the option if possible. I guess no Unions either, although I don't know how relevant that is (I'm intrigued by the new releases, but not that intrigued).

I am jealous. The 62 looks right up my alley.

@kimchi I have the HTH split in a 158 (I'm about 165 in my Ninja suit, size 9 boot) that I got for super cheap through an EVO price match. It is the only split I have ridden, I used snow shoes and then Drifts. I agree with you on the weight it was surprising when I got it but I've only had it on two short tours and it seemed fine? The tip clip interferes with my Karakorum skins. The pucks seem a little sticky with my Sparks, again my first split so maybe that is usual?
I'm taking my AST 1 plus this weekend
https://themountainschool.com/program/a ... -whistler/ so I should have a better appreciation for it then.

Looks sick. SCR little big for my tastes, but doesn't matter as much for a split. But I am probably going into touring semi-hiberation for a few years so can't justify something I can't get on mega steal pricing haha.
