Do we know where Salomon builds? I'm looking at the HPS Taka "E.P." and it may have just won the "my one new board this year" award… 😅

I think Salomon uses a couple different factories, I know some boards are coming out of Titan in Hong Kong, but some are still coming out of Europe, I would assume HPS are Euro-made.

what's wrong with Bulgaria?

They’ve been made in China since Amer bought them.

Amer Sports. Originally Finland-based, now one of those asset-management companies who do brand management (Arc'Teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Atomic, Armada, Louisville Slugger…). The factory is in Bulgaria, which is third after Austria and France in total volume of snowboards (and skis) manufactured.

Nutso world eh…

Not so sure on the buy now.
Even worse than that. A few years ago Anta (the Chinese Nike / Adidas) acquired Amer.

Not pretty unless you like 90s flame graphics. In collab with https://www.flametec.co

That company looks like it has another year tops before the kids move on to another trend.

New brand through Snowcountry, the big online retailer based in the Netherlands. Evo/Season would be the US equivalent I guess. Graphics are basically Korua with a blue base.

Funnily enough Jerry Niedermayer showed me some early Korua prototypes that had that same blue base. He said it was the only sintered ptex they could get hold of at the time that was wide enough for the shapes they were experimenting with.

€385 at the moment which is crazy cheap. Not sure what I think (or if I need to think) about online giants producing boards.
