I finally got my hands on a set of Supermatics to gawk at. I’d only ever seen them in promo shots.

I was actually interested in these for when I teach my kid, but my gut feeling is I’d rather ride Step Ons. These things are HEAVY and one look underneath tells me these things will feel super stiff and generally shitty underfoot.

Would take Flows over those. Still gonna have a highback sticking out to manage. New K2 Clicker is actually starting to look sorta ok.

I saw the 2024 Salomon Highpath in real life yesterday, I think it is a damn cool-looking snowboard that looks, on paper at least, to be a perfect fit for how I ride
Image I'll have to see if I can demo one, it really got mixed reviews last year.

I have a new Highpath 159 in my closet. Super exited to get it in snow. Got a nice feeling when i first sew it irl.

Do we know where Salomon builds? I'm looking at the HPS Taka "E.P." and it may have just won the "my one new board this year" award… 😅

[edit]
Amer Sports. Originally Finland-based, now one of those asset-management companies who do brand management (Arc'Teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Atomic, Armada, Louisville Slugger…). The factory is in Bulgaria, which is third after Austria and France in total volume of snowboards (and skis) manufactured.

Nutso world eh…

Not so sure on the buy now.
