@jkor This mid-week storm kinda came out of nowhere, should be a nice fun refresh and not enough snow to significantly impact mountain ops.

I would seriously consider making plans to extend your stay. Don't know where you're flying out of, but the Monday 19th is going to be a SHITTY travel day if the forecast holds up. Plus mid-week after a storm and after a holiday should be primo conditions.

Hell yea, let's make it happen. I'm also happy to pop over to Kirkwood if you got buddy passes. The Wood is one of the few mountains left with <$100 buddy passes, so I try to hit it at least once a season if I can.

Been tracking this on Opensnow and the Weds-Thurs storm was hinted at but was really hard to forecast.

We leave next Tues, so Monday should be a good day although it's a holiday and not a blackout date on the ol' Base Pass so I expect crowds. If the roads are open Tues we're gonna be making the trek to Reno for our flight. I'm along for the ride so don't have a ton of options.

calling in @Alkasquawlik for help on apres. I'm usually the guy going home to stretch and eating leftovers lol.

I'm not super big on apres, but I've had some good post-shred sessions at Le Chamois. Vibes are usually high when I'm clearing out for the day.

Best eats in the village are Wildflour for quick pastries (shocking affordable for a ski village) and Fireside Pizza Company (not shockingly affordable but decent pies). Neither is going to light the world on fire, but they're decent.

I really like Spoon in Tahoe City, it's the only place I'd go out of my way to eat if I was in the area for a couple days. I always make a point of stopping at Wild Cherries in Truckee on my drive in for a croissant and a coffee, but maybe not worth 20 minute drive from OV.

Like Kimchi mentioned, Le Chamois is the quintessential apres spot in the village, especially on a sunny/warm day. The Slot Bar is also an option, but more of a dive-bar vibe than anything. KT Base Bar/Plaza Bar (right underneath the Funi) are also good options if the weather is nice and you want to sit outside. Rocker and 22 Bistro are more so restaurants than pure apres spots, but they're both in good locations to sit outside, have a beer, and people watch. Rocker has a little bit of a sports bar vibe, whereas 22 Bistro is a little more upscale atmosphere. I'm partial to going to the Auld Dubliner and getting a beer and an order of their Guinness BBQ wings, seriously so good.

Pro tip: Buying a beer or a nippler at Alice's Market in the Village is significantly cheaper than buying anything on-hill. I'll usually grab a beer here and then drink it on the way back up the Funi.

Also, Coffee Bar >>> Starbucks.

Thanks, I'll check those out! We're actually eating at Auld Dubliner tomorrow night after we get in so I'll def check out those wings.

Good looks on Alice's Market too. Reminds me of the general store right next to the tram at Jackson. Great spot for a "waiting in line" beer.
