edit- this was totally my fault (shark smashing galore) and i am so sad i won't have more days on this board. back to my deep thinker 160 for bigger feature days.
wonder how the new base is
Pics of the destruction would be cool to see if you have them. Be interesting if we can see the layers.

My thoughts on capita/snapita is that they're on the line of performance vs longevity when it comes to construction. There are way more 'bombproof' options, but they wont ride the same. Additionally, they may garner more than their fair share of the advanced riders, just due to that they seem to have taken that sort of premier spot in the echelon of board brands. But none the less, it comes down to construction. A bit thicker core, or ptex base, or more glass, or something something something and pretty soon you're riding a Never Sumerian.
For sure. They're constantly chasing lighter cores and other materials every season. I don't have data to prove it, but I'd guess that they pretty easily make the lightest boards out there easily and it's a good trade off IMO.
The two Capitas I've owned (Kazu and Mercury both 157) have been the lightest by a fair margin. 2.5kg vs 3kg for most other brands in a similar size. Very poppy and lively feeling like high performance freestyle boards should.

you can see the line in the topsheet showing the core is cracked all the way through

really is....
i'm not sure if my riding is conducive to a high performance lightweight deck, or if i just got unlucky and would have annihilated anything i was on.

Anyone see the proto that Horgmo was talking about in the latest Tribute Board Shop YouTube? Who knows what it’ll ultimately end up being but this iteration looked pretty cool. Shape wise is looks like the front end of a doa with a bigger kick and the back end of an aero, with a pretty aggressive side cut (seems progressive like aero?), sorta midwide-ish too. Sounds like it’s pretty stiff with the top end material guts of a mega or super as well.

Haven't followed CAPiTA in a while - assuming this is next year's. Evan, the kid I film all the time, is on rep flow and just got it.

Can't stop thinking about a Super DOA. I've essentially been riding the same board (Tom Sims Pro/Academy Master 157) for over 5 years, and a slightly more playful but still powerful twin sounds like a fun diversion. Riding Mammoth again tomorrow and Wave Rave has a 156 left at a decent price. Hmmmm....
