Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
just to reiterate, the aeronaut is just the best. it such a confidence inspiring deck.
brought my rear foot up one set of inserts from ref as an experiment and loving it. if it gets quite deep i'll push things back, but have more than enough nose in knee deep snow.
after getting a base grind and fresh wax, it seems a little faster accelerating than it was from the factory and the overall glide and momentum is quite noticeable.

How did you do the grinding? In workshop?YukonCornelius wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 4:39 pm just to reiterate, the aeronaut is just the best. it such a confidence inspiring deck.

I made a homemade one... I still don't know if it works or I made a mistake...

Good to know about the post-tune glide. I usually don’t like taking base material off new boards but I am leaning towards giving it a bit more structure with spring on its way.YukonCornelius wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 4:39 pm just to reiterate, the aeronaut is just the best. it such a confidence inspiring deck.

Little surprised it doesn’t have the “Moonshot Omni tune” like the other high-end Capitas, including identical MSRP Kazu. A Super DOA base for example has a full cross-hatch stone structure out of wrapper.
And agreed on confidence. Reached a point I don’t really think about the board, just drop and go. That slightly sluggish acceleration is my only really complaint. Maybe switch performance but that feels mega nit picky with that directional a shape.

I didn’t even know that.. I’ll get mine tuned as well.

Stop it, you guys are gonna make me buy one.
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
Yes, yes… i already had one in my hands because of EL but I'm still looking for my most playful capita: doa or ultrafear for example
by the way... I really like your DOA wide... There are riders who say it's very playful, others say it's very hard... But I have it in my shotgun scope

Haven't ridden a DOA in years, but I wouldn't classify it as "playful". It's not a demanding ride, but there's definitely an "oomph" to that board; and Capita has other more playful options. Indoor Survival, for example.

I love my DOA! It's really playful and a lot softer than my Super 8 or Passport. Its flex combined with the flat-to-rocker sections in the tip and tail make it really buttery and forgiving, but it still has great pop and can hold a relatively decent edge. Not stiff at all IMO and made the whole mountain a terrain park, which has traditionally been my favorite style of riding.jota wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:32 am Yes, yes… i already had one in my hands because of EL but I'm still looking for my most playful capita: doa or ultrafear for example

Totally opposite experience for me with the '24 DOA and '23 Indoor. The Indoor feels way more locked in and precise with its (basically) full camber profile and stiffer flex, whereas this year's DOA feels really playful and forgiving with its big flat/rocker sections and softer flex. Several reviews have suggested the DOA has been getting softer these past few seasons.
Re: The Official CAPiTA Thread
but indoor survival has full camber and I am looking for camber type “resort”. I'm not exactly looking for a easy ride but I always had very hard boards and now that I'm getting older I want to experience softer boards to better feel the ollies and sidehits and how the board works and propels me under my back foot.
maybe because I have hard boards now I escape full cambers… maybe I'm wrong…

You poison me with your wise choices. first the SB powder racer and now DOA wideeleveneightnate wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:05 amI love my DOA! My idea was to get the ultrafear and then the DOAw but maybe they are very similar...
I like wide boards although I have 8.5us and the problem with the DOA is that this year the reference stance is 56 and it’s too much for me. I ride 53 (it doesn't leave me much option since I would have to be in the narrower inserts and from there I couldn't delay if I want...).
Next year's is 53 but I don't like the board very much. the wide of this year is great…
