Just to begin to speculate....It could be that the Jones (Now) version is having more sell though than Now and so they're thinking of duplicating that...
Yes, it could be.
Jones also is a famous brand, Now is not as well known as Jones, or at least is not so well distributed around, here in europe.

Never been a fan of Yes boards, though.
pow_hnd wrote: Mon Oct 23, 2023 1:17 pm As a former industry person, this actually makes a lot of sense.

NOW came out of the gate hot, then fizzled pretty hard due to their lackluster ratchets/straps/ladders.

So, integrating the brand into Yes, where there’s a lot more dealers that already exist, and now with a much better overall product would definitely be a boost.
I could never understand why a brand like Now, under Nidecker umbrella, came out with that kind of ratchets and straps. I think like in every big company, they use the same suppliers, so if nidecker already had bindings in the line (not sure about this), and ratchets and straps were decent, I'm surprised the Now version were shit, for a long time.
But maybe I'm missing something.

It's more understandable the issues that Union faced with toe ratchets, 10 years ago, because C3 has only Union as a binding company.

But, anyway, Nitro and Raiden did the same. Raiden bindings are Nitro branded for few years, right now.

So then is Lobster dropping the triple base tech?

Please puhleese say Yes isn't adding it.
wow, this is unexpected.
The logic would be to include Lobster in the Bataleon line...

Whoa, just read the Nidecker wikipedia page. Had no idea they were packing that many brands.

Maybe rolling Now into Yes also makes sense from a B2B sales perspective too? The ol Burton playbook of telling shops "if you wanna carry Yes boards, you also gotta carry Yes bindings."

Just guessing from my limited understanding haha.

That sucks. I like Now but don't like Yes or Jones.

Kinda the same. Hate Jones the brand and person... Ambivalent about Yes. But my senses last year told me to buy a spare set of Drives, so I have a new set that will stick around.... and since I run all Burton straps, etc... I can just refresh mine, so I should be good for quite a few years with 3 sets of Drives.

Milo only does Yes, and Salty Peaks only does Now ( they do Jones as well )

Continuing the speculation:
JF is a Québecquer, just like DCP. They've likely been good buddies for a long long time. JF is probably also getting tired of being a "brand manager" (Niedecker has "owned" NOW since day one; "founder" means squat in business) and happy to take royalty payments into retirement. I know I would.
