They’ll put you in a better mood when you shred ‘em, so pull up a chair and talk about ‘em

Did you end up taking the Aeronaut out? How was it?

TL;DR: ripper. Good purchase. I'm glad you never talked me into buying a Kazu, this is the Capita for me.

Also: Palisades Saturday was surprisingly fun. I was really impressed how good the snow was given the shit start to the season. I had low expectations but coverage is great and some really fun side hits are starting to set up on Red Dog / Resort Chair, and a few spots on Mountain Run. Lower mountain and anything in the shade was firm, but plenty rideable-- just hand to account for the lower visibility. Towards the end of the day things got a little slushier, saw and dodged a few rocks in side hit landings.

Not nearly as crowded as I expected either. Did plenty of jerry dodging and the Gold Coast line was consistently stupid, but I was expecting far worse. Never got too bad lapping the Funi or Red Dog + Resort Chair.

@SprockingCrail suggests Sugar Bowl was about the same. I gotta say, "bad" seasons have their charm as long as the resorts are still rideable. It keeps a lot of the casuals at bay, and traffic was a lot less awful than I antipcated.

Yea might be a while before I’m comfortable riding the new Aeronaut again unless I’m strictly in the park or some HUGE storm cycles are on the horizon. Off-piste is bony and won’t take a lot for bogeys to poke through on the open groomers.

TL;DR: ripper. Good purchase. I'm glad you never talked me into buying a Kazu, this is the Capita for me.
Sick, can't wait to ride mine. I want to head up within the next week or so and will be sorely tempted to bring it out. Going to keep a close eye on weather/snow condition.

My guess with the mixed rain/snow coming in the current forecast is above the Funi or Tram should be fine, but I'd be sketched out on lower part of Mountain Run or Red Dog / Resort Chair.

Let me know when you head up. Weekend probably out for me but work should peter out for a bit during holidays so I might be able to play hooky during the week.

Right now, I'm thinking Tuesday 12/26 - Wednesday 12/27, but am going to play it a bit loose. Technically have the week off, but have a client moving into their space at the beginning of January, so need to make sure they're dialed in before I fuck off into the mountains.

Here comes the storms boys and girls!

Will be up at Palisades Monday-Friday next week, ducking offline to grab a few laps here and there. Anyone else planning on being around?

Probably will grab a day or two over the MLK weekend. Not sure what specific days I'll be there, might skip out of work on Friday, but most likely going to do Saturday and maybe Sunday. I'll let you know.
