When your kid moves in next year they should definitely check out Bolton and consider a pass there. It’s a shorter ride to Stowe, and doesn’t get nearly as crowded. That Stowe access road gets Epic (lol) backups every weekend and every time there’s a storm. Plus Bolton has night riding for after classes.

I was chatting with some UVM kids at sugarbush and asked where their local was, most said Sugarbush. I asked about Bolton (I love that place) but it doesn't get as much love from
the SSC, the club busses only go to Jay Peak, Mad River Glen, Sugarbush, and Smugs.

She gets a free Sugarbush premium pass if she decides to go there. I think she is going to stay here on the west coast, both my kids just got their UK passports so you never know where they may end up!

Increasingly the play is avoiding mega pass resorts for a better overall experience. Gotta squeeze out that alpha before the normies inevitably catch on.

west/rockies unquestionably have better hills and resorts, but if you're starting out with small kids, east is best. We have so many independent family owned hills that are great for young ones to learn on, not to mention a seasons pass will cost you $300-500, kids are 1/3 of that or free

My brother-in-law is in Buffalo and they have a county park with a free magic carpet near their house which I am jealous of. I keep threatening my kids with a trip back to NY and making them ski the places we rode (Bristol and Swain) when we lived in Rochester and remind them how lucky we are in the PNW.

lol west coasters are so spoiled. I’m a native California but I roll my eyes whenever folks complain about “icy” conditions.

Vermonters showed up and gave him the welcome he deserves. Love to see it.
