for those who own nidecker boots, how are they warmth wise?

im trying to decide between nitro team double boa or the nidecker ejack kita for next year. i really liked my nitro team TLS boots if it weren't for the awful speed lacing system but the new ejack colorway looks sick.

Do people still get cold in boots that fit them properly? I think the only time I've ever felt cold in boots has been when there is some sort of circulation issue, and only in the toes.

That ejack color is right up my alley. I'd be interested in trying their boots, if shipping back & forth weren't a problem here.

My question is more making sure the materials provide average warmth. I’ve never ridden Nidecker boots and wanted to see if anyone’s had issues with them.

I have noticed a difference in how well a boot keeps my feet warm by different brands. Vans infuse were on the colder side for me but the nitro team boots were some of the warmest boots I’ve ridden. I’m currently on the ride fuse and they’re about average warmth. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed a difference in boot warmth across brands but maybe I have circulation issues.

To be fair, it's usually not very cold here, but we get those stretches every season. Circulation stuff can be super subtle. With certain boots, I have a noticeable threshold where it shows itself. I would often have a hard time keeping my toes warm for long in ions once it got to the low teens, but my DC transcends are definitely better, for example.

I have the Nidecker Rift. Got cold toes last time I was out but it was during a cold snap and was -15C or lower. But could just as well have been I was cranking boots and straps due to very hard snow and killing circulation rather than the temps. I’ve never noticed the cold on the other 20 or so days I’ve worn them at the end of last season and beginning of this one.

I’ve got a boarder line wide forefoot, skinny ankles, and pretty moderate to slightly large calf’s. I’m running old vans high standard pro shells (wanna say like 2017/2018 before their footprint exploded and while they had the integrated tongue lock down) in a 9.5 with adidas gold liners size 9 and footprint low density (3mm) insoles. I don’t use the bottom most lace eyelets and I’m using an old Nike lace lock at the top of the bottom lace section. I like to barely tie the bottom section, have the area around my ankle really tight and then barely tie the top most lace hooks. I think I’m going to put some boot fitting foam around the ankles on the medial tongue side, to take up some more room in that area of the boot to hopefully improve the heel hold a bit, not that it’s bad right now though.

Lol I don't know how much I trust his old head "back in my day!" boot opinions. I listen to Monday Mass, he mentioned he'd never heat molded a liner before. I mean I don't heat mold my liners, but I've tried it. Richards has been on flow from somebody for like 35+ years, to not even try it is bonkers lol.

But signing off on "Follow me for more stupid content" made me audibly laugh while I was reading to my daughter lol.

I really loved the pairs of taros I had, but after I broke my ankle..they beat the ever living fuck out of it when riding through chop/tracked out stuff. now I kinda want a pair again lol

Nitro really should get rid of the TLS lace thing. Its's shockingly bad for an otherwise solid company. Also the inner harness locked by a bit of hard plastic embedded in the liner was a total disaster for me. That little bit, with the big plastic TLS thing on the shell tongue stacked on top of each other = bleeding shins. Its a shame because their boots are great otherwise.
