Makes sense! What do you think it is about the Nows that relieves your foot paint?

Couldn't tell you. Could be the SkateTech kingpin pivot itself, and all the marketing jazz NOW spouts about better edge transmission and less power loss through the disc. Could just be that the heelcup sits higher like pow_hnd demonstrated.

Sounds like a 10.5 in the medium Hanger 1.0 and 2.0 is a no-go for my boot.

Actually going back, I think I rode size 10.5 Imperials for like half a season on medium Hanger 2.0 Pilots (or maybe Drives). I think that was the functional max-- I had bit more strap slack, but don't think I would have been able to fit into the heelcup or center the bootwith an 11. As it was, the toe of the 10.5 Imperial hung a little bit further over the "gas pedal" than I would have liked.

FWIW you can just cut the little “handle” looking piece off those ladders if it’s all you could get

Be careful with the "handle" pieces. First gen of those are basically not removable from a baseplate unless you cut them... too big to split in from the top, and the Doubletake ladder. Ran into this issue replacing a set on some older Burton Hitchhickers, the Doubletake teeth were too thick to pull through bottom of baseplate against the grain, and I couldn't pull them out the top because of the "handle". They've since updated them with a little removable notch so you can slip them through the top, but I think older styles are still floating around.

Honestly I'd rather go regular ladder in the future if I have a choice. Doubletake is nice, but like 3% better than Burton's already excellent normal ratchets, sourcing extra ladders in a crunch is iffier, and stripped ladders are easy to replace.

I was just gonna ask about this. When getting new B straps, is it worth paying the extra for the Doubletake? Of course if I want the asym hammock strap, then Doubletake is the only option. All my Burton bindings have ever come with the normal ratchets and haven't had a problem with them.

So this comes more down to if I want the asym strap or not, but still curious

Genesis hammock straps are the comfiest, just the perfect amount of support but only come in DT. I've never ridden the asym straps from Malavitas but have heard less than stellar reports, the leather Malavita straps are lovely though.

YMMV, but yes to me the double take are worth it. Never ever strip or chew up ladders.

I have seen DT ratchets freeze up so bad that we dismantled the binding and took it into the lodge to defrost, never happened to the smooth glides.
