TSG has been around for a good while... I know them from skate helmets/etc. But why get into the goggle game? There are already too many brands for everything.

Yeah, 686 just dropped those out of nowhere. No R&D on their part, clearly, since there are like 5 other brands offering that same exact goggle haha.

I know a shop that was looking into getting goggles made and the price started at $10 a goggle with a 100 minimum. I played with 4 protos and they are as 95% as good as anything by Smith/Oakley/POC etc. The only difference was a fancier strap or a unique goggle mold. It's definitely what Dang shades are doing. Sunglasses were even cheaper.

Eventually, at the end of the season, I'm going to look for a new goggle (and a new helmet).
I have an old frame with a lens for bad weather, that is falling apart.

Magnetics goggle are tempting me, but the Squad Mag seems an oversized goggle, so I think is not the best for my face.
Anon costs way too much.
I like cylindrical lens, in the past some spherical lens caused me some dizziness, and image distortion.

Maybe I can stick with the regular Smith Squad, it should be the regular size of the Squad XL, right?

If I can buy two of this, I can cover all the bases: I have an Air Goggle that is great for sunny/mixed condition, but with full sun is not that great (it works but sometimes I would like a lens that protects more my eyes).
So I would need a frame with a full sunny condition lens, and another one for bad weather.

Squad Mags are smaller than Squad XLs and only slightly larger than the regular Squads. I sold my Mags because they were just too small for my face. Love the XLs, though.

Thanks for the info @eleveneightnate

I think I can easily try the regular Squad, but not the Mags, so eventually if I'll go with Mags will be without trying it.
(of course, in case I can send it back)

Dragon D1 > everything else. The older I get, the more I re-appreciate the simpler stuff.

Still running my several pair of Crowbars... going on over 15 years. Will change when my rose prism lens gets too shitty (my favo) and I can't replace or when the foam deteriorates.

Depending where you are, anons are worth it. I’ve been lucky at not paying retail for them but here in the Midwest, the lighting 1.) sucks ass 85% of the time 2.) will change in 10 minutes. I don’t ride with a lens in my jacket or anything since 99% of the time I can get to the parking lot and back on the hill in like 15 mijutes.. I guess that’s not really a good thing though 😅

Anon M5. These goggles will treat me right for the foreseeable future. I have the Perceive lens: Cloudy Night, Cloudy Burst, and Variable Blue.
