160W. Little shorter than I normally ride, typically run 163s on normal shapes. I'm only a size 10 so I don't "need" a wide but have ridden a lot of wide Korua-esque boards. I think the narrowest board I've run regularly in the past ~4 years is 263 mm at the waist.

Every time I go back and ride a "normal" WW board with comparatively tight-ish radii they feel like they're something like overly 'edgy'. laying into turns and carving with weight it feels like its too quick to grab at the snow. Maybe smaller ww and tight radii are better for (5 star) 'skidded turns' with counter rotation. Or maybe we just like what we get use to.

I might putz with the FT one more time with some different bindings.

I felt a little off-balance the entire time I rode it and suspected I wasn't properly centered toe-heel. I took a closer look at the NOW/Jones channel disc, and the middle holes puts me too far over the toes, the offset holes put me too far over the heels. That off-balance feeling's probably magnified because the binding's flexing more only attached by two screws.

Might try it with some backup Cartels I have lying around or just deal with being a little heel-biased on the Mercuries. Or maybe see if I can borrow/trade for an EST set.

I feel the same, about normal ww boards

I have this problem with all disk bindings. I’ve been riding est since they first came out and I think they have made me super sensitive to my foot being perfectly over the centerline of the board. I have a size 9 and the disk holes either put me toe heavy or heel heavy.

def try and get on EST's, it is nice being right on top of the deck and you can be very centered as mentioned above. EST's have my favorite "feel" of the various binding systems. my deep thinker/genesis combo is fantastic for response and feel, just not my favorite sidecut after falling in love with the 8m+ radius decks over the years.

the mid 7 radius decks of burton certainly feel more grabby as Fuzzy mentioned in this thread, but the tighter turns definitely have their use cases.

i will probably mostly use my DT 160 on deep days if i don't feel like riding the aeronaut for whatever reason (this seems unlikely though lol)

The channel is one tech I wish other brands would actually adopt and make the norm.

that why I stick to adjustable heelcup bindings.
midwest is best

Think I'll borrow a set of ESTs from a buddy and try it, or pick up a set on sale. I haven't owned a full Channel + EST setup since back when they were still on the first-gen M5 hardware... 2008 baby lynx Uninc with 2009 glow-in-the-dark Cartel Uninc bindings. I took a few laps on a Blossom and Cartel X setup last season and came away impressed.
