I picked up Spenser's Shorty, but I have yet to ride it. If i love it, I may look at picking up a Cheater 170 or Pipeliner to hopefully replace my Amplid Pentaquark.

I would suggest a cheater, which is still a step up from the penta for sure. The pipeliner is a different realm - for people who traditionally rode longboards and have a hard time finding them these days. According to Lars, it's fairly aggressive - where the cheater is big & powerful, but the design allows it to.. well, cheat. Wish I could let you try mine!

agreed. the debate would be between something like a rad air tanker and the pipeliner (or a hard boot setup). i have a cheater its pretty reasonable and useful in a lot of situations. i’d love a pipeliner but its too crowded where i’m at to make use of it safely.

i still the think the shorty rules its my daily for decent conditions.

I wish I could. Tried to ride the shorty but I'm not recovered enough from my car crash in Nov 22 to really ride. Maybe spring.. but hopefully next season.

Stranda popularity has been growing pretty steadily, for being a small brand. The Biru in particular kinda blew up. A big part of that is people are just loving the board, but you have to give a bit of the credit to angry snowboarder, as much as [insert your choice words]. Mats is in Colorado right now doing a demo tour, and it looks pretty rad. Lots of good shredders. Testing the new pipeliner, which went from a 260 waist to 275. On that note, the latter is much better for Lars, and he said he might send me his old one when he gets a new one…

I rode the cheater for the first time this season, and was expecting a bit of adjustment after getting so used to the transition finder, but it was insanely comfortable as soon as I started moving. That board is so special. For how powerful it is, and how stiff most of it is, with all that camber, it's incredibly friendly. So much damn fun carving today. I love how much I can just sit "inside" the board and know the edge isn't going anywhere. Crazy smooth and damp.

Such a beautiful board. Pretty sure I've said before, wish they made one in a smaller size which would've tempted me to get one. A 157-159 would be perfect.
