pow_hnd wrote: Tue Oct 04, 2022 10:18 am Based on all of this and the other responses in here... I'd go Drives and just buy Burton straps. If you hate them the resell value will be high. When I dumped a few pairs last year with all Burton straps I got really good money for them, people were glad to buy them with good straps... I know that Jones straps are better, but still nothing is as good as the Burton Strap game.
Which burton straps are the preferred to upgrade Now Drive?

Burton Double Take Hammock and Burton Double Take Asym seems the best you can find as spare parts.
Size S for an M Now binding, right?

is it the same for the toe straps?

do you need to upgrade even the ladders?

thanks pow_hnd :)
Yes, Hammock straps. And yea, Small for NOW Medium, on the ankles, toe straps just do the same size, and yes I upgrade the ladders, because I go Double Take

And then I do Supergrip toe straps..

THESE ARE THE TOE LADDERS YOU NEED...

They are the smile free ones.. The ladders with the smile you have to cut, so don't get them.

DON'T GET THESE

and then the bindings end up like this..

I sold my Nitro Squash yesterday, I just used that money to buy Burton straps and ladders to upgrade my Jones Mercury

Bought some Burton straps last year but actually prefer the jones straps (especially the toe strap). The Burton’s didn’t feel any better and seemed a bit heavier/bulkier. Also not a huge fan of DT ratchets

I assume you had the newer slim/flat NOW/Jones straps..

Burton hammock vs the NOWs people are swapping out is night and day - the burtons are far slimmer and better fitting. Entirely different design.

I still prefer my flux ankles from 2011..

Let's see, I think I should be able to test the Mercury straps before the Genesis Hammock straps, so I can compare them.

I have the Mercury and also an old Genesis from 2015. The Mercury straps were fine for me.

The straps on my 2011 TT30 are amongst the best I've ridden. Too bad all the fabric tore.

Hah, I have a set from the TT30 and also SF45, which appear to be the same.

Considering how many days I have on each set, they are still holding up pretty well. I have three sets of hammock straps as backup, but the flux just feel best and hug my ankle so well.

Fucking Longo and Tribute Lounge got me curious about Union Ultras.

I’ve been predominantly in that NOW Drive / Jones Mercury / Cartel 7-8 flex rating land for 10 years now. I like it here, but I’ve literally never ridden a high quality soft binding and hearing both Longo and Shane rave about it piqued my interest.

Softest bindings I’ve ever owned are probably Burton Genesis, NOW Pilot, Union Forces, and Rome 390s… and all of those are more 6/10 soft and none are particular flexy in the baseplate.

they arent that soft, the baseplate doesnt flex like crazy and the highback is pretty stiff straight back.
