Kevington wrote: Sun Feb 05, 2023 8:34 am I bought some Nidecker boots today. Not a sentence I thought I'd ever type but they are very, very comfortable. Medium+ flex, plush and supportive. They feel like the Vans Infuse but a better fit for my feet, cheaper and lighter. The asymmetric tongue is a potential game changer for me. The first boots I've been able to just put on and immediately tighten the lower section with causing pain on top of my feet. Let's see how they break in.
How are these working out for you? Nidecker is having 50% some of their boots from last season and I've definitely been curious about them since reading about how well they fit for you.
Have tried Nidecker boots(can't remember which model) and they don't fit me at all, way too narrow. If you like the fit of Adidas and new Vans last these aren't the boots for you.
Good to know. Kev said his fit more like adidas with a wider toe box, so maybe it’s dependent on the model. Either way, the search for the elusive adidas replacement continues.

In terms of a replacement Adidas boots, try out Deeluxe?
I have never worn Adidas boots, but I think Kazu was on the Samba? And is now on the Deeluxe Areth Rin
I bought the Areth Rin at Endless snowboard shop(Germany)
They fit awsome out of the box, no heel ligt whatsoever
I also have the Deeluxe Formative (first year)
They also fit excellent!
I'm a Deeluxe guy now, I have used Forum, Burton, Nike, Nitro and Vans.

Re: nidecker… didnt one of the Burton boot guys move over there, hence the look of some of the recent models?

Anyone have thoughts on how they fit vs Burton?

I've worn the Rift for about 10 days and the comfort is great. That asymmetric tongue is just amazing for minimising pressure on top of the foot. They are a softer boot than I would usually ride so it remains to be seen how long they will last. I see for this year they have the Rift and Kita in a lace up version too so if these last ok my next pair would for sure be one or other of those.

Yeah it's the guy who designed the Ion and SLX. I think he was head of product for the whole company before moving to Nidecker.

I find them a lot more comfortable than burton. I have a pretty 'normal' foot and Burton always seemed to crush my instep and be a bit loose around the heel and ankle.
They feel a bit longer inside size for size with Burton while being just as short on the outside.

Thanks for the info! So you said the toebox is roomy? And what size did you grab compared to Burton? The same?

former Nike/Vans (and a touch of DC) guy transitioning over to Deeluxe here, too. can confirm they fit excellent out of the box without too much pack out, and work with a wider foot.
midwest is best

Indeed a wider toebox! And they fit true to size.
I have 26.5 mondo size and same with Deeluxe boots.

It feels roomy enough to me but I don’t have a wide foot so it’s hard to say. Both my feet are 274mm long and I wear 275 mondo (US9.5), I needed to go 280 (US 10) in Burton Ion but it could be that the pressure on top of the foot is actually flattening it out and making it longer, if that makes any sense?

I don’t usually think much about how boots look but those Deeluxe actually look really nice.
