I took a peek through Capita/SB's 23/24 catalog and was super bummed to not see the Ultralights not in the lineup for next season :/ Really in the market for a new pow board and that was one of the front runners for me along with the Surfer and the Amplid Aloha Vibes. You get the chance to take out on a good day yet?
Powder Racer FTW. It rides really similar but with mellow camber instead of flat and it’s way less expensive.
Don't tell anyone but The circle whistler has a few on sale and with the conversion rate they're sub 400.
That's the '21/22 with flat camber, so even closer to the Powder Pill

Handflexes soft as shit. 5.5 / 10 but I'd call it more like a 4.

I can't figure out what's going on with the "Snap! Rocker". The marketing copy makes it sound like mellow rocker but visually it looks flat. I don't really see or feel any discplacement of camber when I press it anywhere... don't feel the middle displace down when I press between the bindings, don't see the board rock up when I press at the tips. Slipping a sheet paper underneath, I feel a little more resistance just outside the inserts, so guessing it's mellow cam-rock bordering on flat? Definitely not expecting much snap or power out of this thing.

Edit: Looked at it a little more closely in better light, I think it's basically a very mellow flatkick.

Haven't decided what to do with it. Waaaaaaay softer than I anticipated, will probably be the softest non-rental board I've ever ridden if I keep it. May just sell it back into the world still in wrap, ride it and see if I like it as a park board, or just stash it at my parents' so I don't have to travel with a deck when I cruise with the SoCal kooks at Big Bear.

Anyone got any beta about the Santa Cruz revival? Don't see a "Made in" sticker or stamp anywhere. If not for the JP Walker Pro, I'd assume it was just a cash grab zombie brand like whatever the fuck's going on with Palmer. Seems to be based out of Europe, all the MSRPs on the website are in Euros.
I took this to snow a couple times this season. Not feeling it. It's fine, but just too soft and too narrow for my tastes. Really looking for some camber in the tail. Carves surprisingly well, but doesn't have much snap turn to turn. Don't dislike it enough that it ever kept me from having fun, but was always looking for a bit more out of it.
Isn’t Santa Cruz run by the skate shop in Santa Cruz? Looks like basic graphic models with biax and extruded besides the pro models that are basic decent boards with triax and sintered. Sometimes you don’t need more, and JP has been like that with boots too.

The Palmer stuff has been pretty much unchanged since he left it I think, probably selling off old stock, almost always been based in Europe, since he got in with Kessler I think?
Don’t know how much Santa Cruz proper is involved in the snow stuff, gut feeling just licensing the name. Snow business seems to be based out of Europe and the House did exclusive US distribution. If not for the JP Walker Pro model I’d assume it was just a cash grab zombie brand. The board is fine, actually was surprised by how much zip the wintered base had… just not my style of deck.

Well for sure it’s cash grab by some distributors, but they pop up now and then because the brand still is pop.

I went into the season thinking I might get some new boots... Then I picked up a Transition Finder, Skeleton Key, Volcom jacket + bibs + pants and another pair of Union Forces. And now this, thanks to end of season sales:

Comparison with Orbit 157 for @Spenser

Thanks again! I'd still prefer the 62 length, but now seeing this comparison, the 57 is a very viable orbit alternative. Still easier to get the transmission next year, but always tempting.
The 162 is big and stiff. Obviously you’re way above my skill level, but I think that not many would pick the 162 as a DD.

Any thoughts on the Surfer or Aloha Vibes? Might snag one of these 3 during end of season sales

had $20 burning a hole in Venmo, entered a raffle because it’s been a couple years. Sarah picked the number and bam.
