big problem now. I have this jewel at home. It is not a definitive purchase. I needed to have it here to study it and copare. It’s an orca 150. I'm 1.70m tall and weigh 70 kilos and I use 8us and maybe the 147 is better for me because the tail is 293 (303 the 150) and maybe it's too big for me the 150 but I already have it at home and I don't want it to go
You would take the 147 or the 150?? . Does anyone have one and can tell me? I usually use FA152 and Fish 51
There is little powder here and I am almost always at a resort. doing freeriding between the rocks but in the resort or near
Thank you
I would be more concerned (except that it's an orca just kidding) about the Waist Width, on the 150 it is 26.5...
with 8US I think you'll be better with a 147 waist width 25.7, but it's only me.
I had some experience with 26.0/26.1 width board with boots 7US, and it was difficult to turn at low speed.
I didn't have the edges under the boots, they were far out.
But my board were some sort of camber (K2 Simple Pleasures, old version), very different from the Orca hybrid caber with rocker between the feet

Orca would def be your deep snow board then, but it should be fine in powder, both the FA and Fish should do fine on hardpack, and the Orca has more pop than the Fish at least.
thank you!
But the problem is that I want the orca for the entire mountain and for everything (I don't do park). here there is little powder. Only a few times. A lot of years ago yes we had but not now. My idea is a board and use it for everything until i buy the next board
that's why I have a question about the size of the orca
Here freeride means max 5cm of powder. usually means being on fishmonger snow
I would say you don’t need an Orca then, and would size down if using it for everything, but could take a look at other Lib/Gnu if that’s what you want, something around 250 waist. Rig/Dynamo/BRD/Antigravity.

Still perpetually on the hunt for my ideal DD floaty-freeride board with carving dna... seemingly a very common type of board these days, but hard to find one with all the right "math." Broken record, but virtually just want the orbit 57 with cadet tip & tail outside contacts.
Mid 160s
Stiff 8/10
125-130 edge
260 waist or so
Mid 8 sidecut
Camber or a little early rise
Enough tail kick
Mild taper ~5-10mm
Alchemist 64W is close, but not actually as directional as it seems, and just like a bit larger radius/etc. Some Koruas are kinda close too, but don't want the heavy taper or quite that wide of waist, otherwise I'd already have one. Even thought about revisiting the hovercraft, but not a fan of spoon, Jones, or the flat tail. Tur Buteo has been recommended too, but I'd want the 62 - apprehensive about the waist and DDing a 9.5 radius
Orbit will continue to be a love of mine, just want a more powdery nose shape & overall longer length.. otherwise the "math" is right on. Next year's transmission is on the want list.
You should consider looking for a Salomon Speedway 165. You could probably find a good deal on one, and they're awesome boards. I love my 170.

Thank you @Vanni . Perhaps turn at slow speed is the problem and it’s better 147… but hybrid camber is what i want to try
(except that it's an orca just kidding) i don’t know why EL riders don’t like orca. Were i live is not a popular board. For me it represents the american muscle car. IT’s like the mustang shelby of the boards and that is something that i want to try. (And no problm, i understand that like a joke

Thank you @casjcade Perhaps but i have a lot of boards and for me orca is something different. I’m looking for a medium wide and short board (for that reason i have doubt with the size couse don’t want too short) and 150 to me is a good size but don’t know if orca is the kind of board that you have to downsize a lot (they say 3 to 6cm) and i used to ride 24,5 width then try 25,5 and now 25,8 the fish
For me orca have several attractives things like pop and hybrid in the same pack. It sound playful and i like that idea for freeride. I have a lot of boards. Camber and rocker entry with camber is not new for me… orca is new for me and i like to try it

It’s not that we don’t like Orcas….. it’s maybe that we don’t like Mervin and their crazy camber/profiles/magna-traction…
And then the Orca… it’s just like so many other decks out there, but it just happens to have T Ricky’s name on it. There’s nothing unique or special about that deck.
Is it a bad deck? No.
Would you ever catch me on one? No.

It's the hype. So overhyped, and all the people blindly following every rambled word out of his mouth, like a cult. BeSt BoArD eVeRrRrRr
It's like all the weekend warrior Jones dads who had to have a flagship and think it's the best thing to ever exist... now we have swarms of orca pods doing the same. The vast majority couldn't tell you the first thing about how a snowboard works. Not faulting the board for that, it's just a turn off. Personally, there's nothing about it that tickles my fancy, but that's irrelevant
TRicky boards are kinda beefy, but if you don’t foot steer alot I’m sure it’s fine, and maybe you won’t have a problem at all, some don’t. Popping rollers will be hella fun, I can tell you that. Turning maybe not so much, depends how you ride.
thank you!

if you don't have issues with the fish, at 25,8, maybe you can try the orca...
I have a fish myself, and I don't have any issues at 25,7 width... (although the fish it's a heavily tapered board with a massive setback)

Thank you @pow_hnd and @Spenser I met the orca through a mountain guide who has one. I like short boards with a wide (but not long) nose and I don't want camber. so the orca is a good option. But having said that, I agree with what you say: the name of Travis,( It's what people who don't know want) the disgusting and overhyped, commercial part for having a name behind it... although the good part in my case is that where I live this bad culture does not exist. no one owns an orca. years ago there were many people with new boards. not today The reality is that I like more small brands that take care of the product. but coming from B they are all small brands…
but I search and search for options, all of time searching and until the other day I came to a possible option with the power racers... Not long ago, pushed by EL, I began to see other brands other than B and from there to look for something not made in China. Now I'm looking at the now bindings too… But it's hard living far from the snow not to fall for more mainstream products. except for EL, you don't get real opinions… people give their opinions but they don't know… Now that I've opened my eyes to other brands, gathering information about good boards takes time. I even thought about stranda, powder finder, yes, gentemstik, moss.. korua..amplid future shapes… . but I don't want camber or like zen snowboards say, perhaps I still haven't reached a custom camber for me... Thanks guys for your opinions...
