picked up some Volcom Arthur pants (standard, no XXL in the Longo Gore :/) yesterday, SHE fleece on the way, too. needed a kit that wasn’t so “mountain town cool dad” as the Sasquatch kit for Troll laps. might get the matching anorak to take advantage of zip tech.

aaand, the Longo Gore kits just came in stock, up to XXL on tuesday. it’s okay though, not really digging the black bottoms of the Off-White color. I do dig the green of the gore jacket over the anorak, though.

I caved and grabbed the orange anorak after the bombhole episode.. I’m a god damn marketing slave.. but it’ll be good gear.

I've finally gone all-in on Norrona. Olive green Tamok jacket and Lofoten Pro pants. An orange ("rooibos" lolwat) Lofoten Active jacket I've been wearing for a few years will go in for a warranty workover soon I think, but otherwise, bomber. I expect to not have to buy new for a decade (especially with the extended warranty).

I'm 50% full backcountry (splitboarding up) and 50% "slackcountry" (no chairs, just a gondola up into wilderness), so my needs are different I suppose. While I have skater and surfer culture in my background, when I am on snow I have gone full "general backcountry" culture.

Dang this looks like an upgraded version of my Grumpy which is pretty much what I'm looking for. I gave the Volcom L a go yesterday but in my AB size it felt super roomy and there was no size down available. Has anyone tried the Beast 2L? Seems like what I'm looking for and similar to the Volcom L.

I have a Beast 2L. Sizing and waterproofing are very good, DWR leaves a little to be desired in soupy conditions but I may just need to reapply. I could do without the insulation; I have to leave the vents open even in moderately cold conditions and even then it gets hot if I'm really working.

My main complaint is the plastic cuffs are trash and basically don't work at all. I need to see if my tailor can replace it with normal velcro or just a synch or something. Also, I wish it had a pass pocket although the pass holder in the powder skirt usually works depending on the reader.

I wear beast 2l it works for me. I wish the 3L stuff looked better or I would go for it. I just recently got the Sasquatch beast jacket I love that thing.

I am back on. After the OG EZ shit the bed I lost track. Stoked its back. Hit me up with any outerwear questions.

Man I tried my best to get 32 outerwear legit. It was like pushing an Ice cube uphill. The brand manager loves his 32 logos. The new gear looks like a nascar explosion of 32 branding. They moved production to a cheaper factory because they owed the previous factory a million plus change. Even after they payed up, the OG factory would not move forward with future development so they had to find a new factory. I would not trust 32 if my life depended on it.
