Has anybody tried newer Ride boots?

I bought the 22/23 Tridents at the end of last season. Excellent initial quality/feel and the ankle harness system is the best I've used. Toe box too small for me out of the box, but I had them baked with toe caps and a pad on the outside of my foot and now they fit very well. Only have a few days on them so I can't speak to longevity.

Lasso pro was (is) one I want to try on. Couple double boas from k2 as well. Hoping to spend some time in shops on our MT trip.

Transcends are feeling great at home. Tomorrow is the first test.

I’ve bounced around between burton, deeluxe, and Ride for awhile now. Have definitely settled on Ride in the last few years. Burton no longer fits my foot. Had a set of Insanos that were just great, though the hard shell on the tongue cracked in the second season. I stitched it with wire and beat the crap out of the boots. Followed that up with Lasso Pro last year. I just can’t believe how small the footprint is on that boot. I actually moved my heel cup in a hole on my Atlas. Never thought I’d get to do a thing like that. Size 12 boot and all.
I’m less excited about the boa system on the Lasso though. I loved the separate lower foot/upper ankle system that the Insano had. The lasso is a boa heel strap and one boa for the entire outer lacing system. Much harder to dial in the right fit where I want it. Next boot I’ll pay more attention to that.
But as far as build quality, footprint size, and comfort, I’m digging ride. Can’t say I’ve noticed issues with being colder in them than other boots.

I’m skeptical of BOA in best of times, but that’s particular implementation of BOA sealed not doing the Lasso for me. Effectively a single BOA boot.

Great info! I don't understand why a midrange boot like the Lasso is still single zone BOA. That's why I was looking at the Deadbolts, which have dual zone boa and a regular tongue instead of the plastic one. They seem to fit between the Lasso and Insano flex-wise, which sounds perfect to me.

I've been on Ride boots for the last 4-5 seasons. Started with the Fuse and they were a great fit and a really small footprint. They were a bit too soft out of the box for me, so moved on to the Trident. Maybe my all time favorite boot. Perfect flex out of the box and after a bit of boot foam to manage my skinny legs, They've been great. Was worried about having 3 BOAs, but no failures. After about 3 seasons they're starting to soften up a bit. I still ride them often, but ended up getting a pair of Insano. Probably the stiffest boots I've ridden and the first time on them were like ski boots. I ended up getting the liners heat molded and after a few days they broke it a bit. Now I really like the flex. Stiffer than I normally like, but I don't ride them daily. Only on days I need extra response.

Ride is one I really want to try on, but don't think they have been carried locally since around 2000.

Man, I'm going to be bummed if these transcends don't play out well on snow, because they feel damn good wearing around the house. Better than all my Burtons.

Verdict is in - they're keepers. Comfy, supportive, good hold, and a little warmer than I am in ions when it's cold. Felt kinda stiff at first, but after I warmed up, things settled in. Breaking in just slightly softer will be perfect. I still love speedzone, but modern boa is pretty slick. Love how easy adjustments will be, even if you just need a little relief on the lift at times.. or if I'm posted up filming in the cold, pop 'em loose.

Time to shave some rubber!

Interesting that you found them stiff, as I don't like stiff boots at all, and in my experience range find them like a solid 6 personally, BUT that is the flex that I love, which I why I love these boots.

Stoked you like them, I too, find them super comfortable.

They're just a stiff medium, but right in line with a fresh pair of ions - they call them an 8, and I think most brand scales would generally agree (whether we agree with their rating is separate). I don't like STIFF boots either - gotta be able to move, but need a good backbone.

T-rice is rated at 9/10 - I've only ever tried on a pair (2018) so no real experience

Tried drivers back when they were a little stiffer (this pair was 2008 I think?) and definitely felt restricted.

New ions are good for me, but I like them best after a little break in - so my perfect boot is about a 7. I start using my tongue stiffeners in them maybe half way through a season, so around 35 days? We'll see how these transcends go over time, but they felt really great today.
