Captians log...

They’ll put you in a better mood when you shred ‘em, so pull up a chair and talk about ‘em

In bad news Kicking Horse had a gondola car break off yesterday. Bracket looked to have snapped right off. Luckily it was just outside the terminal and no one was seriously hurt. Crazy to think I was just rode there a few days ago.

One of those days. We got about 10" up top, tapering to 3 max at the bottom, nice dry snow somehow - maybe it dried out as it got clear & cold overnight. Lapped the ridge hike & got first tracks on our most iconic couloir (video)

I skipped out of work and went snowboarding, got there at 230 and rode until 8. It was dumping the whole time and was amazing but no photos.

Yesterday was crazy 20-30” of snow in the upper Cottonwoods and three vehicles got buried in an avalanche that hit the road in LCC.

Everyone was fine though, thankfully. At one point both canyons were closed simultaneously for more that 2-3 hours.

One of the spiciest days I’ve had a Brighton in a long, long time. Even with all that snow, it wasn’t that great, way too windswept. One moment you were in 2 ft of blower pow, the next minute on a sheet of ice, and not smooth groomer ice.

I was trashed at noon at bailed because I didn’t want to get hurt.

It was only reported as 4” overnight but what a great day! I think everyone was waiting for the big dump tonight
So the lift lines were short.
