this

this

and also this
Totally in line with all this. I have a Sherlock that I no longer ride and it was great at the time but now with the passage of time I realize that fv was a poorly designed system compared to other concepts like c2 (Especially in changing situations where you come out of powder between rocks and enter in marble ice zone)

What I don't understand is why they didn't redesign it... they could have improved it a bit... in the end the concept has its place in the market
Are you sure nothing had changed about it on any models since its inception?

Anyway for FV lovers (if there are any anymore) its still available next year in the custom and process and equivalent womens models.
The truth is that I don't know if FV has evolved over time. I really enjoyed my Sherlock but when I changed and abandoned the idea of FV, I didn't follow its trail from then on. However, I always heard the same complaint about the edge hold. And I never heard that complaint about C2 or C2x.
Really, in my case it’s a complaint because if FV had been better, I would have come back. I personally am a defender of hybrid camber, and I don’t ride camber, but I use to ride over ice… and ice, rocks, FV and vertical inclination is not a good combination

Agree
C2 is fine. C2x is actually pretty good. Not something I'd own, necessarily, but I've enjoyed demoing boards with it.

Now we just need Nitro to get rid of its Gullwing profile, and Never Summer to stop using a photo of my latest mogul line as a reference for their camber profiles, and we'll be golden.
don't care about never summer at all, but yes, I agree for the nitro gullwing.
Then, don't get me wrong, I think this kind of camber bends maybe have their place on specific boards, but I think for all mountain/park/freeride shapes, the best rocker/camber combo are definitely rocker in tip and maybe tail (but not on everything), and camber in the middle, past the insert packs (camber dominant board). And for park, full camber or some sort of less aggressive full camber (slightly elevated contact points or something similar).

the rocker in the middle thing, for all mountain/park/freeride is kinda of outdated/obsolete/around 2010 designed board

Also mervin now offers less and less boards with rocker in the middle (few years ago, the C3/camber boards were a novelty, now a lot of their shapes are camber or c3, or camber dominant with early rise in the tip)

Ferrari does kind of this, if you want to buy certain models you need to own a number of other Ferrari, you've to show that you're loyal to the brand.....wich is a very Italian thing 😃
