Yes when Alex Warburton was there was awesome... now it's basically what Tyler said.

I still have my Yes Standard from a decade ago, it's such a good board ive kept it. Made in Austria pre SWS model

Yup, this is worse for all three brands. Quite honestly it’s a very predictable result of an ill advised marriage between lobster and yes. This is a big reason why I am anti nidecker. Act like shit bag PE bros and suck the sole, life, and beauty out of what was great and leave a shell of that former great brand in your wake then you get treated like shit bag PE bros.

Once upon a time, RDM, JP, DCP… , who were happy and jumping boys, managed to escape from the enchanted kingdom of Emperor BIG B. They had heard about some magic beans that allowed you to do anything you wanted, but they had no maps or where to look, so they kept walking Along the way, as they were hungry but had no money and had to find a solution, they brainstormed and in the end asked themselves a question… Can we create a snowboard brand? And they said: Yes, we can
And they asked themselves, Can we give it a name? - Yes, we can
And they asked: Can we have our pro models? And they answered: Yes, we can
And they reached the kingdom of nidecker. And nidecker asked: Can you make great boards with your brand? And they said: Yes, we can
And nidecker asked, And when your boards are great and we want, them, will you agree to incorporate bindings? And they answered: Yes, we can
And nidecker asked them: When your boards become cooler than ours, and we want to, will you accept that we can make you lose your identity so that ours become more important again and we can continue to control our kingdom? And they answered: Yes, we can
Ok!!! Now you can surf and snowboard whenever you want, own homes in Costa Rica... will you be able to think you've found the magic beans? Yes, we can.

Maybe it’s just a simple story when the story is written in a more complex way. But Maybe … in the end, everyone was happy… except us…

I haven't really been interested in YES any more lately (I used to be) and this catalog doesn't change that. That said, I had a chance to test the Sender (Early I believe) 158 and I really liked it. It's aggressive and energetic board, fun for side hits and such. I could even consider it if I was looking for that kind of board.

I've had a strong affinity towards yes over most other brands and probably had close to a dozen yes boards since their inception. Nothing in particular about the rebranding puts me off, but it does feel like the soul of the brand is now muddled and in a way the abrupt move from freeride focused to freestyle instead of bringing synergy of two or three brands into one it feels like a bit of a rug pull on what it was and comes off more as a ploy than a genuine brand merge.

But whatever.

Heard something about Yes keeping it freestyle and not branching out too much a couple years ago. Boards like the Standard, PYL and Warca do well enough anyways, and they each got their boards there.
