I felt stupid for asking but I figured it was worth a shot. I found some honing oil from when I was sharpening skates regularly, along with a paste application that was used by a minor league team that was supposed to prevent snow buildup on skate runners. Might try to find a way to apply it without making contact with the base of a board.

maybe just rub on some wax before you put it in the bag. I'd just use a block wax rather than a paste, as the paste would get on anything it touches. Or don't use a bag? I just put my boards in the back of the car au naturel and don't get rust.

It’s all good. It’s pretty much a non-issue, to be honest.

Do you know if hot wax can be used by making cold application rub on and brushing it afterwards?
In other words, are the characteristics of cold wax very different from the characteristics of hot wax for application? Or is it simply that cold wax for rub on is softer?

I will have to try because liquid wax doesn't last long and when I travel, the wax lasts two or three days but after that I need wax and I can't use hot wax...
There are special cold application rub on waxes but it is difficult for me sometimes to get them.

Hertel seems to work for this. Make sure the wax/board isn’t cold. It’s not that hard. Use a cork or fiber pad after to rub it in. Then I brush. I do it maybe every other time I ride. Takes about 5 min.

I asked about quick waxes a couple of months ago, and @pow_hnd recommended Hertel Rub On, which I didn't know was a thing: https://www.amazon.com/Hertel-Wax-Rub-T ... B0CR8RSMDH

Apparently, it lasts considerably more than your usual rub on wax. I already use Hertel wax for my hot waxes, so it was a no-brainer to buy the rub on.

Gonna have a chance to try it next week at Baker, most likely.

I tried HERTEL this year because my cousin brought it to me from Canada. But in Europe HERTEL is expensive and shipping is almost cheaper through Space X than through regular shipping. I'm going to review your previous question 👍 to see if anyone answered other options that I can get here. On the other hand, Hertel is brutal!!! fast.. very very fast

I asked once, a while ago, about cold waxes. I used liquid toko several times but I even prefer not to use that rubbish. It seems that cold waxes are not very popular. @Spenser uses it if I'm not mistaken but here in Europe there is little to choose from and nothing compared to HERTEL.

Unless it is t-shirt weather spring slush, I am always running cold wax. Warm weather and all temp waxes are softer than cold. I pretty much wax every day I ride. When traveling I crayon down the edges with reg wax. If you don't have a cork block you can use a wine bottle cork for just the edge area.
Purl is my favorite brand of wax. Purl all temp is harder than about every other wax I have tried. I have used Hertel all temp but IMHO it is a very soft wax and does not last as long as Purl all temp. I can't tell the difference in speed between the two.
