I may be the only one here with northwaves, not sure. I have had several pair of decades and they're probably my favorite in the lineup. But I don't have the newest iteration. I've always went with speed lace, that's my preference.
I'm on speed lace Decades this season. I find their speed zone to work better than Burton, but I prefer Boa. I'm not too sure about their Boa knock off though.
Cool, thank you! What is the fit like? I have only ever used Burton, 32 and Salomon. There are some good deals on them online.
Fit is the main reason I've been riding them for 20+ years. Few other boots seem to fit my feet as well with the same support and features. Imo northwave has had the best liner in the business.
I always try other brands because its become increasinly hard to find northwave boots stateside, but i seem to run into the following with other brands I've tried:
They may fit okay and be relatively comfortable but the boot is too soft and doesn't have the support or features I want.
Boot built to last better and more supportive, but doesn't fit my feet and are uncomfortable.
Now I can't speak directly to the newest northwaves. The current lineup is different than the ones I've been riding and I do see some differences. But I myself wouldn't hesitate to buy them nonetheless just because they've always been good for me. But Ymmv.

Apparently I've got a typical European foot shape, narrow and long. My boot fitter said that many of the Euro brands, like NW and Deeluxe, as well as Salomon, fit this type a foot well. Burton is similar. I've ridden more Burton boots than any other brand, so NW was a good fit. I've never had 32 boots, but I thought I heard they fit a narrow foot as well.
Remind has a 20% off referral code. Full disclosure, if you use my link I apparently "bank" a 20% off discount I can use later.
Don't want to be that guy and spam my link, hit me up if interested.
(Also if you sign up for their email list they'll send you a 15% off code. They are basically always running 10-20% off, but I don't recall them going higher than that.)

Yea it's a shame their European version doesn't work. The "subscribe now and get a discount" doesn't work, it's broken.
On the other side I got in contact with Remind on this matter and they send me a discount code! They rock!

Yea given the way they are basically always running some code, I suspect if you ask basically guaranteed they'll give you at least 10% off. I messaged them after a sale expired few years back and they just sent me a custom code.

Was just at Baldface with people from Burton, speed lace is going away and they are gonna go basically BOA 100%.
Said they have been working on the triple BOA for 3-4 seasons. Said the new boots fit super crazy good.
I'm looking forward to the triple boa and the new system. They are also doing away with the inner liner lacing harness I believe.
I personally never liked the way speed lace tightens from the bottom first. For example, in my speed lace Ions I could never get the top as section as tight as the bottom sections. I know some people love them, but I've never had failures of BOA.
