Lol full circle. I had this on the TV while I was working on something yesterday. Rally cat is at 22:22
Sounds like it's a softer twinnish board, as expected, but I like what he says about "dull" boards for this application. I think people often see energy & pop as a linear scale - more is not simply better
Something about that deck's vibes just pique my interest. Nidecker buddy of mine said he raced one at the Dirksen Derby, so feels like it's got some versatility.
Maybe check out this one at 22:22

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
thanks for all the info. good to know! i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if blake just got a signature algorithm or current lineup model. but i would love to see if they come up with something without too much overlap in the current lineup.coleslawed wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 7:53 pmno Blake Board for another season, most likely. maybe a late release next year. he’s mostly between the Moderator & Deepfake, so it’ll be some hybrid/offshoot of those two. only some binding updates from Ride, no changes on the board front.rickflairwooo wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:52 pmtotally. excited to see what they come up with. his gnu hyper was a great board. feel like RIDE has been on a good tear lately so i’m particularly interested in their new lineup. enjoy the demo & do follow up!coleslawed wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:46 pm Blake Paul was working on a signature board, wasn’t he?
heading to an on-snow demo tomorrow. should get some good peeps.
Nitro has a pricepoint companion board to the Alternator coming for the common man. didn’t get on any of their boards, but the rep confirmed with me that the Alternator didn’t ride like he expected it to either, and really needs some gas behind it. I also put a request in for a 162-ish Banker that he said he’d pass along
Jared has an Arbor board that I didn’t get too up close with, but it looked very Alternator, even graphically. Red’s board is still cooking, probably a season out.
hopped on the Cartel X EST StepOn & Union StepOn back to back. I think the Union will sit nicely between the re:Flex & EST differences in feel, or at least give non-Channel riders some more dampening. Cartel X EST felt a little off to me. the extra movement the EST gives you is quite nice, but it was a bit of a jolt then leaning back into a stiffer highback. also wore the new Wavelength (?) X boot. B boots still don’t agree with my feet, but the softer flex was nice, and they look clean.
the Goop HPS board was fun, but a bit too wide for me. they also widened up the Louif, which I’m not hyped on as much anymore.
& yes i just read about the consumer alternator, i believe they are calling it the PHASE. should be interesting to see, as well as it sounds like we’re getting a women’s alternator as well designed by hailey langland.
& yes i’ve been interested in jared’s new arbor model. did some digging & found a photo of it. looks like they’re calling it the el camino. hope we see a release of it soon. i dig it.

Langland is long overdue a pro model IMO

I'm still hoping they "reintroduce" something camberless with him. The Hyper was such a fun stick and certainly not the classic Ride aggressiveness. Maybe he left cause Merv wouldn't give him anything else and he wanted something camber? I don't know. I think they should revamp the Slackcountry under his name. Shape and profile seem closer to what he was riding at Merv.rickflairwooo wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2025 10:57 pmthanks for all the info. good to know! i honestly wouldn’t be surprised if blake just got a signature algorithm or current lineup model. but i would love to see if they come up with something without too much overlap in the current lineup.coleslawed wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 7:53 pmno Blake Board for another season, most likely. maybe a late release next year. he’s mostly between the Moderator & Deepfake, so it’ll be some hybrid/offshoot of those two. only some binding updates from Ride, no changes on the board front.rickflairwooo wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 6:52 pm

Snagged from SnowboardingForum (the rest of their 25/26 thread is just reposting from EZ). This new Source binding doesn't use mounting discs... it's like EST for non-Channel boards.
Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
I agree, I rarely ever pay full price for gear. Problem is, I really like that Tuvak jacket and not many shops carry it. Evo has the goldenrod colorway at a decent discount, but no XL.

Interesting. EST but with two vertical screws, looks like?eleveneightnate wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 8:50 am Snagged from SnowboardingForum (the rest of their 25/26 thread is just reposting from EZ). This new Source binding doesn't use mounting discs... it's like EST for non-Channel boards.

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but without range to slide the binding relative to the screws, how is binding angle going to be adjusted?

Re: HARDGOODS 25/26
I'm wondering if it's some kind of "built in" disc that rotates those two triangle pieces around inside the footbed? Hard to tell based on those pics.jclinares wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2025 9:20 amInteresting.
