Just to go full nerd on this for absolute clarity. I was doubting my measurement after riding as it did indeed feel shorter.

You need to press down the camber while doing that, to go full nerd 🤓 If the widest part of the board is still touching the ground, and then some, that's when you know someone fucked up. It can vary a little depending on how far up on edge you go, while the board is compressed.

Has anyone ridden the Lib Lost Rocket in recent years? I can get some ex-demo that may not even have seen snow for a decent price. Looking at 2023 or 2024 models, seems only to be a minor nose shaping difference between them. Would be using as a pow board and also for carving and goofing around on smaller hills.

There are also some suggestion about how to mount your Flow bindings in different position, for different riding purpose :D

Think I need one of these. Can't decide between the 159 and 160w. Do you think that extra waist width would drastically change its flex? I'm basically looking for it to ride exactly how you described it, but i have 10.5 US feet. I miiiiiight be able to get away with the 25.5 ww on the 159.

I’m really not sure if the wide versions are made for the same weight rider but with larger feet or just bigger all over and heavier. I guess if the core profiling is the same then the wide will be stiffer by 1/25, which isn’t much at all.

rode the banked country on friday for the first time, what an awesome board.

on my first run, i caught my heel edge popping off of a side hit that caught me by surprise, had a good laugh. the pro mag took some getting used to, really need to be active in engaging the edge with the front foot before putting too much weight into the rear foot or you will feel the board pull you in the heel edge direction aggressively and get thrown off balance if you aren't expecting it (at least, this was my experience). once i got used to this, it was absolute joy.

conditions were cold and hardpack, but the board can hold very well on edge even when it is quite shite out there.

as expected, great pop and flex pattern. the nose of the board is a nice level of flex for me in the 159, not terribly challenging to butter but stiff enough to evoke confidence at mach 10. i didn't ride switch too much aside from a few turns after some 180's, but will get more familiar with how that feels in the next few days out. cab spins feel real nice on it, and i'm sure switch backside will still be challenging for me as i absolutely suck at this (switch back 5 my number one goal for this season to actually land cleanly).

love the feel of the board and excited to get many more days on it. i'm glad i didn't go for the 162 and have a little more maneuverability, and the 59 should be more than fine for gnarlier stuff.

this is the first mervin i have ever personally owned, but have spent plenty of time on lib's and gnu's over the years through either friend's boards or demos.

That's my experience as well, I think you cracked the code first time out bro, haha. I rode mine today and whenever I'm on it I typically agressively set my edge with my forward foot/knee, then as soon as you feel edge-locked you can really drive hard through that tail. For me the BC is pretty unique in the way that it rides, it's also the only board you can actually ride with all your weight on your trail foot and still be completely secure, which is pretty weird but also fun. I'm easily the worst surfer in the world so I wouldn't know, but Fawcett and others say that the BC feels like a surfboard with fins.

i'm glad i hacked it so quickly haha! it was hilarious how a simple right to left side hit i've hit many many times over the years made me fall from catching an edge, of all things. it was rather convenient that it was a day of riding groomers and sidehits, as i really got to know how the board behaves and its tendencies vs a deeper day where the edge profile won't be nearly as noticeable.

in general, i really like driving turns off the back foot once i've set my line, and can do this with very little front foot/leg involvement on my Transition Finder for example. i guess this truly means i'm getting old with how much thought i put into turning these days, yikes.

the surfing example makes a lot of sense here on the BC, as it feels lockedTF in once you are set on edge and you can really power it off the rear leg.

i have my bindings set up with nose length of 20.75" and tail length of 19.25" (believe factory set back is 1.5") at a width of 22". i'm going to play around with this a little more i think, especially after seeing how Cannon rides the farthest back inserts on the front pack, and second to front on the back insert pack.
