are you able to wait?? 😂😂
i hope so, but i know my internal dialogue/narrative will go like this over the next few days:

-you should probably set this up so you can carpet board and feel the flex
-wow, this thing feels amazing i can't wait to ride it
-you won't be riding shark infested waters as you know it's low tide already, what's the risk?

thursday night, as i pack my gear for friday morning shredding:

-just throw it in the truck, you don't have to ride it....

we will see if i can resist the temptation

beautiful board and very excited to spend some time on it once things fill in a little more
Lovely lovely board. Hard to see in a picture but the pro-mag looks mellower than the one I have, intriguing. I’ll be in Avoriaz from tomorrow for opening weekend and there’s a demo on. Need to put mine next to this years and check. Because that’s totally not a weird obsessive thing to do.

Thought I heard that someone said that they mellowed out the pro mag on the new model. Not sure who tho

here are are some more photos to give you a better idea, the pro mag is pretty hard to notice with how little it is pronounced

It does indeed look mellower which I like.

Hit me up if you come over. I usually there for opening week every season. €67 for a three day pass to one of the biggest resorts on Earth!

Not a full review but I rode it all day today.

Conditions were slushy, icy, rocky, and death cookies with small feral children hidden in the snow everywhere. I rode it with my Rome Black Label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots.

Just kidding, it was a pretty average groomer day at Sugar. It’s the 158 and I had my Ultras on it. It’s not as stiff as I was expecting by any means. I could press and butter it no problem. Had lots of snap and felt good on an ollie. I’d put it closer to, say, my 157 Super8 in flex than my 159w Passport. Very glad I didn’t grab the regular Ravine since I’ve heard it’s a noodle in comparison.

It carved better than I thought. Not the best carver I’ve ever had, but it felt like it had a little extra hold and nice spring out of turns. It was also pretty damp, especially combined with the Ultras. I think it could use a slightly stiffer binding than those to be honest, though.

Oh and I didn’t feel the 3D shaping in the nose at all. There’s a whole other side to this board that’s waiting for a powder day, though, so I’ll probably take it when I head out to CO in February. It’s a solid do-everything kinda ride that didn’t blow me away but is predictable and has a great mid-ish flex in a freeride shape, which is totally my vibe.

Side note: I have some weird mental thing going on with massive square noses like this. Feels clunky in my mind. I like popsicles.
