Anyway, question about a US board to bring into my quiver, and seems like folks here have some good knowledge and experience.

Current Quiver: 157 Super 8 Pro, 152 Dancehaul Pro, 156 Niseko Pleasures, 156 Cardiff Swell Split, 157 United Shapes Covert Split

Loving the Covert and definitely more US curious now. Wondering if the 158 Cadet or the 156 Deep Reach makes more sense...

Also open to suggestions!

Thanks!
Covert is a little more tapered so likely floats slightly better, but is still most equivalent to the cadet. If that's the type of board you want to add, there's no question

I haven't ridden the deep reach yet, but seeing specs and having handled it in person, it seems like an easy daily driver for fans of taper, that has the upper hand in pow, but not as freestyle friendly.

So really, I think it's pretty simple. Freeride/freestyle & good float, or freeride/pow with better float, both being very capable everywhere.

Your quiver has boards that you could say would have some overlap in their intent (cadet/super, deep/niseko), so it depends how you want to do the math. Are you getting rid of anything? You could always sell some & get both like I did...
Yeah, you kind of nailed it with the overlap I have also noticed (Cadet vs S8P or NP vs DR).

The S8P has a little bit of a larger radius at 7.9, and also has the backseat camber, so different enough to not want to replace with the Cadet, but also maybe too similar to have both? Plus this is the last season they are making it, so it's hard to justify getting rid of it.

The NP is one that I could maybe see a one in one out for the DR. The NP only has 2 mm of camber, which sometimes doesn't feel like quite enough when in variable or firm conditions (of course not what this board is designed for, but sometimes you encounter it even on soft days). That being said, do you know the camber height on the DR?

And yes, I could also totally do the same as you and liquidate to pick both of them up! (although it seems like the 158 cadet is sold out everywhere, so maybe that makes my decision a little easier)
The 56 and 59 are listed at 3.5. It's on the low side, but definitely visible. As I mentioned on the previous page, it doesn't exactly have "early rise," but rather sorta mellows out after the front foot, so that you get some extra float when the camber is pressed out, but still full edge contact. Shredder posted some good profile shots a few pages ago:

I don't recall the NP profile, but I imagine the deep reach would give you the increase in all-around capability and edge bite that you're looking for, in a package that will obviously float really well

Posted this a while back, but here's the full spec sheet again, since not everything is listed on their site

Simple takeaway from US/fullstack warranty is this - Don't be a nerd and ask questions 😜 just submit a claim regardless of what their policy says about where you bought it. Their responses were quick, and shipment of a replacement board has been processed.

I think I'm going to mount them both, and test them back to back to see if I feel a difference.

Still confined to the bunny hill, so everything with a grain of salt, but tried the "defect" deep reach today. Feels like a ripper. Rides a little stiffer than I thought it might, very solid, and the tail feels real stout. Sidecut temperament is about what I guessed… wants speed, but the taper keeps a little quickness to the turn feeling as opposed to a board without. Couldn't feel the slight contour from edge to edge, so I don't think it's going to matter.

Pretty stoked the boards got stiffer with the revamp a couple years ago, because now I can ride them 😜

I got rid of my Horizon. It was a really good board but it didn't stand out in any way for me. For a better freestyle rider I suppose it would be very handy around the mountain.

I just noticed your toe strap position... Lars got to you 😂

Can you feel much of a difference on the top vs the toe?

I've been running them over the top for 10 years now. That's a season longer than I ran them cap-strap style.

Particularly as a turn/response oriented rider, I definitely feel them keeping my toes locked down, namely when on the heel edge. Personally, I don't see a functional riding benefit to toe caps, but I can see them feeling more comfortable if your boot toe is too soft.
