dude I'm really happy for you! Gentemstick are simply amazing!benjinyc wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 10:58 am swapped the 153 for the 157. I thought the 153 was proportionally sized to the 157, it is not. completely different camber profile, the 153 is basically flat. I didn't realize they are different board designs, even on the website the 153 is labeled ' freesytle' the 57 is free ride

I don't think they copy each other either. I think they are inspired by each other, especially the Ben Bilodeau pro model and last year's T1. If someone thinks something is cool and makes something similar, why not. Shows the respect for each other.gringo68 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 6:39 amMy local shop isnt a Nitro dealer and they have never been on my radar but i can see the similarities after a quick google search. Give the small brand the benefit of the doubt. Ben Bilodeau pro model graphic too. Wonder if him and taxwood are both larpi g as cowboys these days?
@Sangwich69 had horse graphics before them both

Nice pick-up. I upgraded the straps on mine, in particular the toe straps. I was interested in them because a) they were slightly softer (especially the highbacks) than the usual B high-end models (e.g,. previous Diodes, X), and b) they had the simple foam footbed (as opposed to the Springbed). They also had the Hinge in the baseplate (EST only, I think).ad1105 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 12:22 pmGrabbed them off a homie who only used them once then they sat in his closet for nearly a decade. Burton strap bindings haven’t changed much in that time. I’ve only ever ridden EST bindings on channel boards, so I’m curious to see if these Reflex Diodes will offer up a bit more response. I have no doubt they’ll get scuffed up pretty quickly, but that doesn’t bug me. Tools, not jewels!sunokeru wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 11:33 amI am impressed how nice your Diodes are looking, considering that these are like 8 years old or so. I had the EST version of these (first on a Trick Pony and then on a Hometown Here) and loved them, but the shiny highbacks scratched and scuffed quite quickly.
Ironically, I have replaced them with last season's X EST (with very stiff highback, with Springbed, and without the Hinge)...
Re: Check out my new...
The Springbed was great for early morning groomers, but my knees like a little something a bit more damp these days. I really liked the Autocant beds but found they’d get chewed up and mushed out after a while.
I really bought into the whole EST system for so long, not realizing that I actually preferred the feel of the ever-dreaded “dead spot.” Thus, giving Reflex a try on channel over EST. Wouldn’t be surprised if I eventually go with my Union Franks, in the end.

a bit of taper, a lot of camber
Re: Check out my new...
I have the 2014 Burton LTD bindings. Same baseplate as diode, carbon fiber + nylon, but regular highback. Can’t believe they’re already a decade old
