I totally agree, but I maintain that it was slightly funny 😜 in a lighthearted way, to be clear. They're positive, and transparent. I also like the "on the table" videos where you really get to see the profile. I'd totally ride with them if I went back to bachelor. I'd also love to ride with angry, but for a different reason, hah.

I recently dug around to see if I could find more evidence of angry riding, but what I most frequently came across (again) is the cult-like following where his fans get defensive toward anyone asking to see him ride. Simply bringing it up can tend to get that type of reaction. And coming from him directly (often in youtube comments) he maintains that it doesn't matter if you get to see him ride - the review still stands. Purely from a channel/marketing perspective, maybe that's true. But realistically and in general, I don't agree with that. Especially for someone with an ego and large following, who is supposedly so knowledgeable and experienced, seeing somebody ride can say a lot. If they maintain it doesn't matter, it usually boils down to the fact that the person in question is simply good at churning out content to maintain a following, whether they can do the thing or not. There is a reason he frequently says the same things - verbatim - about boards (and yes, I understand there's only so much you can say when you have that many videos). I can't remember which video it was the other day, but it was almost like he was doing a parody of himself. It's a formula, which IMO was getting tired years ago.

I truly don't care whether someone is any good or not, but when the balance of ego vs actuality is so far off in this direction, it becomes lame. He constantly talks shit about others, yet most often they're modest, and better riders. And Lars in particular is the exact opposite of him.

Totally agree. I'm not judging Angry's riding ability (who am I to judge), but watching someone ride certainly informs you of the value of their "review". I like riding with beginners as well as people that are 10 times better than I'll ever be on my best day, but getting a peek at how they're riding any particlular board lets me know where they're at in terms of skills/ability, just so that I can put some objective weight behind their review.

I don't think that's unfair.

You totally have the right to judge the abilities of someone who self-nominates himself as the internet’s foremost expert on snowboard gear. Especially when he constantly claims that nobody else knows what they’re talking about but him.

I saw him trying to lecture Aaron Biittner on how to do board reviews for god’s sake.

If I may be so direct, @Spenser do you have any intel on 25/26 Stranda line-up?

I'm debating selling my 23/24 Descender for a 24/25 one to see how much the reduced width on the 158 affects the ride. Could also go for a quiver with Shorty (I have the split) + women's Descender/Biru. Yes I have tiny feet.. Realistically, my ideal board would probably be in-between Descender & Shorty, and with Nallo and Bowlrider being out for next season, I'd imagine there is some sort of new board/bowlrider replacement coming 🤔

I don't think 170+ boards sell really well, and in any case, most that want it, are big guys that wants to increase the width. Nallo is great, but maybe not a bestseller, and it's pretty limited to soft snow. Hard to say.

Mats doesn't make a ton of boards, so the numbers for each are built for sell-through. He'll do re-orders if needed, like with the relative popularity of the biru. Globally, there are enough average size people who like longer boards for a few small brands to make them, and he's not trying to cater to the masses who don't really understand it. I'd be curious how many nallos he sells on average... probably a low number

@picasso I might know some things, but no leaky 😜

Where did you hear the nallo & bowlrider are out? I missed that

Yeah understandable, guess I'll have to wait for the catalog 🥲
There was some chatter on sbf. As far as I remember at least some of it was from the guy talking to Mats on IG, I think the bowlrider bit.

The one thing I'll say publicly is it's not simply "gone."

I got on the Cheater today.... not much open, but I got a feel for it. JESUS what a beast of a board. I've never felt that kind of edge grip, but then again this is the longest board I've ever ridden.
