Somehow my favourite bindings in recent memory were my old Union Stratas. They just rode better than the Atlas (too locked in, I couldn't move, felt like a robot), Cartel X (felt sluggish? Only way I can describe them), Nows/Jones' which just never fit right, Genesis X (though to be fair those were the only EST bindings I've ridden in like 10 years and they were on a Family Tree Dump Truck which sucked but they felt the least responsive of the bunch, I blame the board and I not getting along).

I've got Rome Black Labels I'm giving a shot this year, the amount of adjustability should let me dial them in the best out of anything. I'll dig out my old pair of Holograms too, now that I ride a bit less forward lean I should be able to get these to where I want them and see how they hold up. The shadowfit combined with full size disc is a pretty unique ride, and in theory I like the response toe to heel with the mobility side to side.

But yeah, Stratas. They worked so well a couple of years back on my OG TF54 when I finally scored at Shames instead of getting skunked with rain and groomed ice. Third time was a charm there.

Strap placement adjustability is really underrated. Since I found straps that work for me, it's been so comfy. Malavita straps, not all versions have been that great, and the "fabric" ones used to tear up on laced boots, but the latest version of the fabric and the new plastic ones have been great. I need a high or further back attachment too, and a few mm seem to be a big deal. For split bindings I needed the smaller and softer Lexa ones. I think it's a combination of the asym shape, flex and the placement, because Cartel straps are not right for me at all. Also need the high instep and tongue that Salomon and K2 makes in boots, others seem to fold and make a pressure point (digging in), which could be why some prefer a really stiff strap and those extratongues behind the laces. Some Union straps are great, but in general a bit low for me, so maybe they are fine with the right placement. The Jones flippy straps in freeride mode on hanger 3 bindings work similar to the Vitas, feels more "surfy" 🤣🤙 that way.

Different strokes for different folks. I like to mess around with bindings a lot. The parts bin could probably build a couple more.

Ruroc not making ice axes or sponsoring FisWT.. Talk about wasted potential. Ice axe holsters and BIG Ruroc beltbuckles.

Easy.

100% rurockin it bc I could wear it on the moped that I ride to the hill on and later on when I get jumped by a gang of 9-year-olds for my hello kitty backpack of frosted animal crackers. I like to make animal sounds when I eat them.

All clew can do for me is look cool. And I think the backpack already does that. So....
