Now I haven't ridden them, and honestly hardly have any EST experience at all, but I'm wondering how similar it feels to the OG strap EST bindings.

The plastic piece is a piece that joins three important parts. The EST and the guide that enters the channel and marks the angles. The thickness is seen in several photos with yellow marks.

Has anyone had this experience?
In the EST, the hammock is pre-curved and someone said that in the EST they corrected a problem that existed in the previous Genesis but what they say in the video has some logic

Well yea, the EST version looks more out of the way, so I'm sure there's something to it.

I loved normal Genesis bindings (before switching to step ons), for me it is all about locking boot's heel into grippy hammock to increase responsiveness and this makes no sense in step ons, as heel is already fully locked, so I never wanted Genesis Step Ons. This video confirms my thoughts. :)

yeah, the only reason to buy the Genesis Re:Flex Step-On is if you just want to spend more money and have the look of the Gen. Same baseplate as the regular bindings as far as response goes, mayyyybe slightly more comfortable on the heelside edge?

Exactly, that is the key to my doubt, the issue of comfort, And I don't want to spend more money... better to travel

@alex In the normal est Genesis, one of the things that I liked the most is that it allowed me to go in a Zero lean position, which the hi-back was not very intrusive in my boot, so I could not define exactly if the hammock gave me comfort, or is that it really touched my boot very little
But I liked it that way because when you do diagonal transitions in the mountains, the inclined hi-back blows my legs out so in that point genesis go very well So I don't know if what I liked or worked well was the hammock or the zero lean
It’s possible that in the re-flex Step on the hammock can contribute very little although I thought it would generate a certain comfort, but it is true that when the boot and hi-back going hooked perhaps hammock don’t work as much there… and maybe hi-back don’t work as much there…

no visible lacing either, wonder if it's a SO version of the double tongue boots? or maybe just a powder flap.
