Every year we talk more about Stepon… always hidden behind some different topic…
Maybe it's time for this thread
Is it, so different?

Because everyone on EZ is getting older. Soon this place will be all Stepons, Supermatics, Flows and Clickers.

Re: The Step On thread
Stoked to try mine out this season, I just really hate the vertical slack. I was carpet boarding yesterday and there's a significant lag in them when doing ollies and leaning toeside, it's a weird feeling. Might hit up Burton to see if they can send me different clips for my Photons to help.

Maybe Supermatics. But never step-ons for me. Just don't work for my feetunsuspected wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:48 am Because everyone on EZ is getting older. Soon this place will be all Stepons, Supermatics, Flows and Clickers.

I'd like to try Supermatics too, it'd be nice to wear whatever boot you want. Someone gave me a set of step-ons the first year they came out and I only rode them one day before selling them. They felt "twitchy" to me for lack of a better word, almost too responsive edge-edge, and I say that as a person likes likes responsive bindings. Despite all that, I've been told by people I trust that the current generation step-ons are vastly improved over the first version, so I'd probably give them another shot.
Re: The Step On thread
My problem is is just have fucked up feet and not matter what amount of boot fitting is done, I need an ankle strap.

Re: The Step On thread
I wanted step-ons to work for me, but they just don't. Burton boots work for me but in step ons i just feel like my feet are straining against the boots too much and it causes pain. I even had proto boots with dual zone boa and a heel strap on the boot and they didn't work for me. Plus I hated the egress, you still have to bend way over for the lever and simultaneously do the foot twist thing. Awkward AF.
Re: The Step On thread
I’m waiting for the Shimano Di2 version where you can remotely clip out. Should be around by the time I’m too old to bend down.
Re: The Step On thread
Another reason to stay lean and fit as you age. And work on strapping in without sitting. Yoga is key.
