anyone know whether Burton will continue to make "short" versions of the AK cyclic pants next season? Maybe even make a short swash pants?

Thanks my man AyAyRon!

Now to decide whether a shorter version of Cyclic is better than regular version of Swash. Anyone with both have strong opinions?

I have Swash pants and Cyclic jackets (2 of each). I’d say the materials are very comparable. Swash have a bit rougher face fabric IMO (not a bad thing, just a distinguishing feature). I choose swash pants because of the pockets and vents.

I love the regular/usual upper pockets but they also have two thigh pockets that I really appreciate. Cyclic have one thigh pocket.

Swash have inner and outer vents for that cross flow. Essential for me on warm days!

My vote is Swash. Maybe you could just roll em for walking around so you’re not stepping on the cuffs?

Fwiw I like features (and texture, and usually colorways) of Swash better, but would still go Cyclic. I owned an older Swash and ran it as primary jacket for a few years. Eventually realized I run way too warm for any integrated insulation, even if it's 60 g and only in the core. Also packs down smaller for travel and hiking/touring.

Michi Albin Burtin seems to be inspired by latest Leader Board, same construction (Triax top and bottom with Super Fly II core, no topsheet) same WW, same EE, little bit less early rise (already very little on LB in reality), little bit tighter sidecut, same setback, probably softer flex. This is a good thing, as LB is one of my favorite boards. :)

Some copy-paste:

As MA is all about graphics, so not having a topsheet is very strange choice, as graphics will be damaged on first contact with anything solid, dirt on boot sole, bindings, other boards… Also, very strange that both are made in China, understandable for latest LB, but not for MA.

If my LB needs to be replaced, I can be interested in MA, but LB is still going very strong, despite not having topsheet, only fragile paint over top glass. Also, latest LB has best graphics for current world – Peace. :)

Found this article about Burton serial numbers: https://boardvault.net/news/what-are-your-digits

A nine at the beginning means your board was originally meant for a rep or employee. A lot of pro riders ride boards that start with a 9. If you have one of these, it is very likely that you got your board from someone on the inside of the industry.

Mine Leader Board has serial number beginning with 9, I have no contacts with the industry, bought this board new from local shop of Finnish biggest resort, was wrapped normally with normal “specs sheet” attached to base. Seems that it is second board of 555-batch, if this means anything. :)

All my other Burton boards have serial numbers beginning with 1.

Summer is boring, especially if you got the flu and raining outside.
