The boot thread

I was surprised that there isn't a boot thread yet.
Image I have 60 days on my 2021 thirty-two Scott Stevens TM2s so I'm interviewing new candidates this season, prolly the XLT or Jones version of the TM2 because they address the things I'd like to improve - the sole, that weird toe material that gathers snow and lack of power strap for my skinny calves.

I was measured as a 9 and on the wider side so Vans are looking a bit too narrow but I did try on a pair of Nitro Chase which were comfy and Boardworks is getting a similar boot with TLS, has Nitro's TLS system improved? I feel like I'm in between sizes when I try on K2, Salomon and Ride boots.

(never discount a boot until you try it on)

picked up the Deeluxe Areth Rin's last year, which treat me pretty well. Only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the removable liner harness, wish it was stitched in. but these fit my feet pretty perfectly.

did come up on a pair of Ion Leathers I'm gonna give a try for something more supportive, standard Ion's were a no-go, but I'm hoping the leather is more forgiving around the forefoot.

This has been surprisingly hard around here, Boardworks in Bellingham has a bunch of boots right now but even Evo in Seattle doesn't seem to have many boots in my size.

Vans has really stepped it up in recent years. Loving the Infuse and liked the taxwood before that. A wide toe box and heel boa works best for my foot shape, although I still have to usually put some C-shaped foam around the ankle area of the liner.

Before I broke my fibula, I fucking loved soft boots. Had a few pairs of the Taro Tamai and they were awesome for tweaking grabs and turns. The Danny Davis boots were sweet too, but didn’t ride them long as they were the absolute wrong boot to wear while healing that foot lol.

Running the newest Salomon Dialogue as a safe bet for everything besides splitting. Trying out a Thirtytwo Bode, and have both Burton Tourist and K2 Aspect. Tourist works well with the Sparks, so a nice option when travelling with the quiver option. Aspect is nice for longer hikes off the board.

I just found a pair of Vans Infuse Longo color way in my size and tried them on. They felt really good actually not as narrow as I thought.

Yeah, the fit right out of the box was even better than I expected. Love my Infuse Longo's, and glad to finally have the right adjustment on it dialed to my liking.

Do you do with this your Aspect by any chance? Always felt these felt a little loosely goosy on the descent because I can’t secure the rear, but this feels like it might work.
