90% sure of hitting Hokkaido this upcoming Feb. Bringing my girl who's just hit intermediate skill level. Going to be a challenge in keeping her happy while I try to get my full backcountry on. If you know or willing to share places, I'm all ears. Looking at Furano for a few days and then potentially hitting some of the smaller resorts to get away from the crowds. I need her to learn how to ride pow...

I ain't been to Hokkaido yet (was hoping for closed borders again to head up this winter heh) but a buddy of a buddy runs this place: https://www.furanosnowtours.com/

Thanks for that link. Looking like Feb 17 - Mar 1 I'll be in that area if you're interested? I'm happy to get a Japan meet going. The closed borders must've been great for the lack of crowds but I can see the local economy taking a huge hit b/c of it.

I need to explore JP more, but in 3 trips so far have enjoyed JP a lot more for culture and food than for riding. Ridden two big touristy resorts at Hakuba and Niseko, but also a much smaller resort and BC zone at Tenjindaira. The snow quality is insane, but the terrain's trends quite mellow. Maybe if I could find a more Bachelor-esque mountain with some interesting wind lips and transition features, but haven't experienced that yet.

I may swing out there in March for a work trip, but don't know if I'll be able to carve out any time for riding.
