At airport about to leave Tromsø in the Arctic. Quick hit in just carry-on baggage to catch the northern lights with the wife. Few real resorts this far north and no time to ride, but the touring looks insane.

This pic isn't anything special, just random peaks I caught opposite the city after climbing a cable car from the city. All of this is right above a road, lots of optionality from gnar to mini golf, good visibility and easy navigation. And all low elevation so altitude isn't a factor. Hell, there were even pretty fun lines assessible from the cable car. Conditions were crusty shit so I wasn't even tempted to ride, but I was route finding and mind shredding a bunch of random peaks.

Don't know if I'll ever get back to actually get to tour here, but looked like a lot of fun with the right conditions.

Bonus pic from the iPhone on an aurora chase. Doesn't actually look like this of course, but spectacular even to the naked eye. Same way a brilliant starry night looks nothing like a long-exposure photo and yet more breathtaking in person.

Awesome! :D Never been to Norway, but they've got some sweet winter stuff there. Hope I'll be able to go one day.

At the start of February I was flying back home from a trip to Europe, and got a great look at Greenland in the middle of winter. I had very similar thoughts, lol.

In my head, I'm trained in backcountry, own a splitboard, and can afford to put together a camping trip to Greenland to shred those hills all day, lol.

Well you have the Lyngen peninsula just east of Tromsø. Minialaska with lotsa steep and snowy peaks and chutes. Protected landscape so all by foot, like most of Norway, usually a few avalance deaths a year. 4-5500 from sea level. Compared to Alaska, it's north of Point Hope.
