Make a worse binding than Clew. Alright, hold my beer.

Have you tried those bushings before? I was terrified after using them on the first IPO. Speed wobbles in every landing. Probably fixed a bit on the whole system after that tho.
no, I didn't try them, but as you say, I expect that they have made some tweaking over the years. And of course, the bushings are Jones, I don't know if they are different from the now/yes soft bushings.

It's just for try something different, maybe on the sickstick. If they work, cool, if they don't, I wasted 13€, not a big deal
received the box form Nidecker. They are regular Mercurys, they are exactly the same as the other pair I own.
Tomorrow I should be able to test the soft bushings.

But back to the Nidecker box.
I think they should learn a thing or two from Union.
They are as big or maybe bigger than Union boxes from 10/12 years ago.
Now Union uses tiny boxes with everything optimized. Tiny boxes, more bindings on pallets, less shipping costs per a pair of bindings.
And less carbon footprint per binding (if they really care)...
And they put the big bindings box into an even bigger (and it's very big) box!

What are you doing, Nidecker?
same boxes as two and 3 years ago, when I bought Now Drive and then my first pair of Jones Mercury, no improvement

Can't speak to IPO, but I owned v1 Drives circa 2014 or so, and every NOW/Jones binding I've tried since 2017 has been so much more refined. Even with soft bushings.

rode the new mercurys today with soft bushings.
I didn't noticed any difference, honestly. I was on the sickstick for the second time, it's a board that's new to me, maybe with my daily I would have noticed the difference.
What I noticed was the difference between the previous year toe strap, and this year one: same shape, but the new one is softer and adapt better to the boot shape. Good upgrade that wasn't advertised. Nice job, Nidecker/Jones, now I think the toe strap is as good as any other toe strap from other top brands.
Also, the footbed of the new has a slightly different shape, it seems a bit shorter in the toe area, also it has a different stamped graphic, but feel the same, to me.
And the biggest difference is the ankle strap, on the other pair I have the Burton double take Hammock strap, which are amazing straps (the best I've ever tried, really comfortable), and on the new pair I left the Jones, in freeride mode (tried surf mode at home but didn't like it). The jones straps are not as comfortable as the burton, and gave me pressure point on the ankle on the back foot. Let's see in the next few days.
Maybe I'll upgrade them, at some point (but due to issues with double take ratchets, I would like to move away from burton hammock, unfortunately)

Burton makes the Hammockstraps with standard ratchets on the Cartel X fwiw.

Thanks Kimchi, I'm going to take a look at them

Yeah, the double take ratchet + ladder on B Bindings kept freezing on me one too many times. Don't think I'll ever go back to them.
