The boot thread
Re: The 2022 boot thread
same size in burton and dc? burton seems half a size smaller to me than some brands, but about level with k2 and 32.
Re: The 2022 boot thread
Yes, 9 - perfectly interchangeable in my case, at least with the transcend.
I had a couple 8.5s in B years ago (08-10), but they were rulers/softer liner, and I think I was pushing it just a little. Definitely a 9 once they started using infinite ride liners. Otherwise, have only ever been down to an 8.5 in the Nike ZF1, but they didn't do 1:1 lasting, so that could have been related. Never needed to go over 9 in any brand.

Just found a pair of "used 4 times" 2014 Burton Ion Pirelli (with asian/wide fit InfiniteRide liners) for cheaaaap on Japanese 2nd hand site. Photos look legit.

Had a set of Insanos that were just great, though the hard shell on the tongue cracked in the second season. I stitched it with wire and beat the crap out of the boots. Followed that up with Lasso Pro last year. I just can’t believe how small the footprint is on that boot. I actually moved my heel cup in a hole on my Atlas. Never thought I’d get to do a thing like that. Size 12 boot and all.
I’m less excited about the boa system on the Lasso though. I loved the separate lower foot/upper ankle system that the Insano had. The lasso is a boa heel strap and one boa for the entire outer lacing system. Much harder to dial in the right fit where I want it. Next boot I’ll pay more attention to that.
But as far as build quality, footprint size, and comfort, I’m digging ride. Can’t say I’ve noticed issues with being colder in them than other boots.
How's the sizing on these? I'm a 10.5 in Adidas and 11 in Burtons, wondering if I should go 10.5 or 11 in Rides.fubuki wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 2:54 pm I've been on Ride boots for the last 4-5 seasons. Started with the Fuse and they were a great fit and a really small footprint. They were a bit too soft out of the box for me, so moved on to the Trident. Maybe my all time favorite boot. Perfect flex out of the box and after a bit of boot foam to manage my skinny legs, They've been great. Was worried about having 3 BOAs, but no failures. After about 3 seasons they're starting to soften up a bit. I still ride them often, but ended up getting a pair of Insano. Probably the stiffest boots I've ridden and the first time on them were like ski boots. I ended up getting the liners heat molded and after a few days they broke it a bit. Now I really like the flex. Stiffer than I normally like, but I don't ride them daily. Only on days I need extra response.
Re: The 2022 boot thread
FWIW I'm a 10 in Adidas and 10.5 in Burton, and the 10 fit me better in Lasso / Lasso Pro.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 8:50 pm How's the sizing on these? I'm a 10.5 in Adidas and 11 in Burtons, wondering if I should go 10.5 or 11 in Rides.
Re: The 2022 boot thread
Does Burton actually produce different shells for the Asian market, or just produce different liners? I'm skeptical Japan can be a big enough market to justify creating an entirely separate set of shells.
Re: The 2022 boot thread
Liners.
Burton Asian and Wide fit are regular liners with a section of the material on the outside side of the toe box replaced with stretchy material. I'll send a picture sometime
Re: The 2022 boot thread
I'm a 10.5 in most brands except Adidas, where I wore a 10. I'd try 11 first.eleveneightnate wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 8:50 pmViceroy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 12:20 am I’ve bounced around between burton, deeluxe, and Ride for awhile now. Re: The 2022 boot thread
FYI, if you go on BOA’s website you can input your boots and get free dials and cables from them, with free shipping even. My Acerras are still going but I snagged replacement parts for everything just incase. Sweet deal.

I saw that recently, but it seems like it's based on something being broken. Also, have to pick between one of the two dials. Are you seeing something different?
