In theory the highbacks should be lower and different, even in same sizes. So a women's binding that fits a womens 8 or mens 6.5, would have a lower highback than a mens binding that fits a women's 8 or mens 6.5 as women have anatomically lower calves than men do.

My buddy Ryan designed the first ever women's specific binding, the Burton Lexa.

It was the first binding that wasn't just, "shrink it and pink it"

Sometimes the glass content is different, too, to account for the generally lower weights of females and thus flex. I really don't think everything in snowboarding needs to be unisex, even though it's kind of a trend right now. There are measurable, anatomical differences between the sexes and both benefit from snowboard gear designed toward their averages.

I have those too, nice for some boards and conditions. Currently on my Moss MMD, and works nice with that in fresh light snow. It’s kinda on one side of the range for me, with the Now H3 on the other side, and Burtons in the middle.

I do agree with that, but I was thinking if those Unions were unisex they might have just put them all together, and would be nice if they wrote up the specific differences. On other models they have different names, but some of the Unions look so similar it’s hard to tell for sure. With the Ultras they do have some shared colors, so would be nice to know. Burtons I know since I have the Lexa X in large. It works fine, but seems a little narrower, I dunno. The lower highback I’m fine with.

It looks like the highback on the womens model is shorter when side-by-side. Not sure if the baseplate glass/nylon ratio is any different, though. Like you said, it doesn't say anything about it on the site.

Re: Shadowfit it is a really interesting concept and would recommend everyone to at least try it. It's not as jarring to me as Bataleon's TBT where edges don't seem to exist when I tested that last almost a decade ago. I do get the toe and heel response as I would expect from the Districts, whereas I haven't tried the Quantum's/Highlanders which are more stiff but still have the SF tech. I found my HPS board and bindings match spectacularly well for the type of riding I want to do on that setup.

Would I run the SF's on free ride boards on technical offpiste terrain? Probably not (would need to try the Quantum's and Highlanders tho). But for resort fuck-ery and pow days, I'd def put em on the board. Gonna run the District HPS' on my Springbreak Sick66 in Japan, although I was tempted on the Union Stratas...

I have a pair of Now pilots and Burton malavitas that both feel the same on my feet.The HPS Districts and my Karakoram Straightlines (stiffest bindings I've ever used) are the only set of bindings where you notice the softness or stiffness a lot, and like mentioned by others, serve their purpose for the right board/condition

ok, received the Drives today.
It seems I can make them work.

I'll post pics tomorrow, it seems I can center my boots, and have the boots secured in the bindings, without having the toe strap slipping.
I mounted them pushing the bindings as forward as the disks allowed.

Speaking of the toe strap, it is probably the worst toe strap design ever. How can they make pass the tongue with the holes UNDER the toe strap, right in contact with the boot? However it's an easy fix, just unscrew it, and mount the tongue without slipping it on the inside.
The toe straps works better with smaller boots if you use the right toe strap on the left binding, and vice versa.
With a small boot as mine, you have to strap more or less on top of the boot, and not in front of the toe.

It seems also the Union toe straps on this binding aren't a much better fit. They are as big as the Now, and you can't mount correctly without changing the holed tongue.

can you fit the burton superfit toe straps 2.0 on top the boot or you have to use them only in front of the toe?
if they fit great even over the boot, I think if I can order the size S, I should be more than OK

toe strap: as you can see, if the toe strap is placed on top of the boot, it seems to lock the boot secure in place

I can get the boots pretty much centered, only few millimeters heel heavy
